Finally almost done with DOOM 4.
This is one of the best shooters I've played in awhile. The controls are awesome...literally one of the best, smoothest FPS control schemes I've used, right up there with Destiny. They somehow managed to take that ultra fast-paced feeling of the original DOOM and apply it to a modern game. This is the main reason this game blows away DOOM 3. D3 had a much slower pacing and controls-wise it did not have that FEEL of the original that this one has. It was more like they were trying to make a horror game. DOOM 4 isn't trying to be a horror game....its trying to be the Slayer "Reign In Blood" of the FPS genre....ultra fast and brutal.
I'd wrap my dick in one. That might make them cool by association.
I'll put my balls in the other.
I wonder how Gamespot would have moderated this conversation back in the day.

Someone at Nintendo predicted 100m unit sales for Wii U
I'm pretty sure the same can be said for Sony and MS though. What's the point in creating a new console if you're not aiming to come out on top?
Offensive language
Ubisoft is trolling female gamers.
I think the real take away here is that Nintendo's profits will suffer from the Brexit:
One factor that merits caution, however, is the UK's decision to leave the EU. While we still do not have a clear picture of how this will affect exchange rates, a continued strong yen may impact our sales and profit, as overseas sales account for more than 70% of our total sales.
I always aim for rock bottom. That way, you can only exceed expectations.
Ubisoft has amused and exasperated us all once again with an amazing PR fumble.
As reported by Boing Boing, the publisher sent out a survey to select fans – a common enough market research tactic, and one which has frequently yielded hints about future projects.
What made this one special was that of the two gender options Ubisoft offered at the beginning of the survey, only one of them was acceptable: if you chose “female”, you’d be promptly kicked out and told “your profile did not suit”.
Yeah.
Yeahhhhhhhhh.
The pound has plummeted. How is this going to affect the price of consoles? I'm boned.
So Nintendolife posted this:
Patent Reinforces the Prospect of Nintendo NX Having a Portable Handset
But then on the same day we eventually got the Engrish translation of the Investor Q and A, from which this was learnt:
Nintendo is looking into making smartphone controllers
And looking at the patent it looks more like a smartphone controller adapter to me.
But, what if the NX controller was a larger normal controller with a section cut out in the middle in which you could put a (bought seperately) screen/video receiver, which essentially turns it into a Wii U pad. Or, the shell would just let you sit the NX handheld (sold separately) into it - although that might be pointless if the handheld had wireless bluetooth anyway - as it would be able to be used as a controller without any need for a shell.
Unless the next handheld is purely touchscreen only device that is capable of running any port from Android/iOS and Nintendo just makes smartphone portable games from now on, selling their own cheap game only unit capable of playing these smartphone games too.
For us poor Winphone users.
+1!
Yeah, I thought it resembled a smartphone clip-on more than anything console related. I wonder if NX will feature a screen on it's controller at all. Zelda:BotW has the Sheika slab (or whatever it's called) which resembles a gamepad, but all the gamepad specific interaction was stripped from the game. I'd assume this can only be to accomodate a NX version which lacks a touchscreen controller.
A new Animal Crossing and touch screen Fire Emblem is launching this year and I wont be able to play them unless I somehow nab my fathers Android phone.
What the hell is this?

So there is this new 3D CGI movie of the Gantz tv series - only the CGI is so close to actual humans it looks bizaarely uncanny valley. Are the backgrounds actually real and the characters in CGI? What the heck is the point of doing this, just use real actors - in fact there is already a live action Gantz movie.
Of you could spend the £80 you saved by both releases not being boxed products but F2P titles on buying a cheap android phone which you'd only use as a handheld console.
Just a quick one: what happened when Channel 4 News' Jon Snow met Kit Harington...
Just a small story this, but it made us chuckle. We were in the audience for a small Q&A session that Channel 4 News anchor Jon Snow gave in London last Thursday. And perhaps in anticipation of somebody asking him, he did reveal that he has indeed watched an episode of Game Of Thrones. We suspect he gets asked that quite a lot, in truth.
This is the bit we like, though.
He watched the episode in advance of interviewing Kit Harington who, of course, plays Jon Snow in Game Of Thrones. Snow was full of praise for Harington, calling him "a very intelligent young man". But that didn't stop him at

Meh.
Meh!
Anyone excited about Furi? It's a boss rush 3rd person action game with stylized graphics (mostly due to lack of funds), which, like Nier, throws in some bullet hell gameplay as well. Supposed to be hard as nails.
Not to be confused with furries
Although there seems to be some referencing going on
It's free on plus right? Yeah I'll play it
Yes, I'm kind of excited to try it.
