So there was nothing at E3 on Shenmue 3, Final Fantasy 7 or Resident Evil 2? Kind of depressing considering I'm dying for all three, but also hilarious because these were Sony's biggest assets at e3 2015.

Yeah I was pretty disappointed not seeing Final Fantasy VII or Resident Evil 2 at this year's E3.
You saw that report, hoping for Sony to get games out within a year or even the next year after E3 isn't feasible.

Nintendo is more focused on delivering great content rather than making its next console, codenamed NX, a technical powerhouse, according NoA president Reggie Fils-Aime.
When asked how Nintendo NX will stack up against Sony and Microsoft's forthcoming hardware revisions—namely PlayStation 4 NEO and Xbox One Scorpio—Fils-Aime told Bloomberg (via Nibel): "For us, it's not about specs, it's not about teraflops, it's not about the horsepower of a particular system. For us, it's about the content."

interesting bit at the end about how they create the jibberish voices. Basically you have a set of syllabel 'samples' which correspond with each syllabel of real text. The samples however are chosen ad random and get cut off when the next written syllabel starts. Instant iconic jibberish!

Anyone check out the trailer? I couldn't stop smiling, it actually looks great. The art in HD with clean lines... so good.
What do you expect him to say? "Uh...uh... we didn't know MS and Sony were going to come out with more powerful consoles... so uh....uh ours is weaker"
What he says about content isn't wrong either. The whole company has been restructered in order to deliver more content and they are building a common OS which means your software library will double - from Nintendo. From their POV they know they can't rely on 3rd parties so they are gearing up to provide more content by themselves. We've heard from E.Rogers that NX is going to have a pretty healthy supply of year one games. And we know Nintendo is trying to get portable games on the home console too - hopefully upgraded better looking versions.
Is Nintendo to be expected to put out massively powerful Scorpio like hardware that will cost a bomb and possibly fail? Even though nobody knew about Scorpio till a few weeks ago? And Neo only a little before that?
Sure it's okay for MS, a company that puts out a $200 controller or sinks billions into buying Linkedn, or pisses away billions in losses on the mobile market. Even for Sony whose console is resurgent.
For Nintendo who has a shrinking handheld market and dying home console - they have to manage risk vs reward.
That's why they should just stop making consoles imo. Its not needed.

This is exactly what I'm saying. Its just like hooking up a high end PC to your 1080p tv....is it in 4k res? Nope. Does it still blow away the consoles in terms of visuals, frame rate, ect? Yes! MS is just spinning things to make sure Xbone sales don't COMPLETELY shut down for the next year while people wait for the Scorpio.
Pretty cool CE for The Last Guardian. I still can't believe this is actually coming out.
The issue over hardware manurfacture and software and the way its all tied into their business is massively complicated. Its all very well having outsiders who know very little about how the company works; or where (and how) it draws its revenue to say simple stuff like this as if we know it all. But we don't.
He's wishing than an XB1.... Slim was their box?
I can't watch the video but it does seem weird that they announce the S whilst hyping the Scorpio considering when its out. The Eurogamer article noted that XB1 owners are being left out to dry 2.5 years into this generation. They essentially telling you to jump on Scorpio or be considered as a hobo console owner. I dont know who is going to buy the S now.
