I enjoyed the early Guitar Hero games on the PS2 and up through the 3rd one (with Slash), as well as the Beatles Rock Band. It's definitely a series I don't need much more of though. Now that the novelty is gone, once a generation will be enough.

I thought that was Guitar Hero that was announced.  Anyway, Vader is right, I don't care anymore.  Those games were so 2008.

It was actually both, but the Guitar Hero news came well after the Rock Band news.

Project cars reviews

Game Informer: 8.5/10
http://www.gameinformer.com/games/pr...er-review.aspx

In a genre where it can be hard to differentiate yourself, Project Cars makes its mark. It's not as strong as it could be in all areas, but Slightly Mad Studios' attention to detail and racing chops make the game a contender.

Digitallydownloaded: 4.5/5 stars
http://www.digitallydownloaded.net/2...station-4.html

Project CARS is a truly fine racing game, and for PlayStation 4 owners this will be the first next-generation racing game of worth for serious revheads to sink their teeth into. Racing beginners, or people who are used to racing games where powerslides are enough to get around corners may feel very frustrated with this one at first, but I can't think of a racing game that is more worth taking the time to get to know, and master, than this one.

Gamesradar: 3.5/5

At times, it looks as good as real life

Superb weather system

Open-ended structure means no unlocking

Immensely satisfying when you finally win

Inconsistent quality across events

The AI needs a refresher course in how to drive safely

PSU: 8/10
http://www.psu.com/review/26686/Project-CARS-PS4-Review

In summary, Project CARS isn’t quite the complete package as it stands right now, with our main gripe being the performance of enemy A.I. and some of the glitches we’ve encountered. Nevertheless, it does feel like it’s built for a long-term audience, a community-focused racer that will no doubt keep on growing and improving. And Project CARS actually turns out to be more accessible than you might think in terms of the way the cars handle on the easiest setting, despite the fact that it's obviously designed for the core simulation fans. With so much on offer from the outset, the sandbox approach is refreshing, while its scenery and track design never fails to impress. The cars are a lot of fun to drive, too, and the challenge of tuning your car and nailing a track to perfection is as addictive as racing games get. While Project CARS doesn’t quite roar past the championship finish line in a blaze of glory, it feels ready to burst out of the qualifiers onto the main scene.

Gamereactor UK: 9/10
http://www.gamereactor.eu/reviews/308434/Project+CARS/

The bottom line is that Project CARS manages to refresh the racing simulation genre, and in doing so sets a new level that future entries into this genre need to, at the very least, match in order to compete with the competition. And even then, we suspect that Slightly Mad Studios will have refined this title further in the form of future DLC and patches.

Gamewatcher: 8/10
http://www.gamewatcher.com/reviews/p...s-review/12226

Bearing in mind that it was impossible for me to assess the quality and stability of the online components of the game, but it was still clear to see that Project CARS is a bloody good racing simulator. Those of you looking for more of an arcade racer may be better off looking elsewhere, especially at launch price, but if you’re looking for a beautiful and in depth racing experience then shelling out £40 on Project CARS will be money well spent.

Daily Telegraph: 4.5/5
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/technolog...rs-review.html

The only real downside comes in the form of menu systems that can be boorish and awkward in their design. Some of the colour choices are difficult to understand, with text and background colours sometimes so similar in tone that the former is nearly impossible to read.

Such underwhelming menus limit the excitement generated by winning a race or being crowned champion, as the sense of joy is immediately muted when you leave the track and delve back into the career's navigation tools.

That shouldn't put you off, though. Project Cars is a brave step forward, one that this genre has been in dire need of for some time. When you experience just how well a racing game can work when the training wheels are taken off and you're given free rein to act as you wish, you'll struggle to understand just why the mainstream racing franchises didn't incorporate the idea sooner. Gran Turismo and Forza Motorsport have just gained a new podium partner.

Meristation (Spanish): 8.8/10

Project Cars is the answer to plenty of petitions, and a collective project that has absorbed all good ideas. It's a perfect equation with an outstanding result. Pure motorsports.

Carthrottle
https://www.carthrottle.com/post/pro...p-to-the-hype/

Perhaps it’s been a victim of its own hype, but I can’t help but feel mildly disappointed with Project Cars. It never really promised to be anything other than beautiful, and on that front it’s certainly delivered, but with all the promotion using real racing drivers, I was hoping for a slightly more sim-like experience.

The career mode looks vast and well thought out, though it’s incomplete in my review copy so I’ll revisit that in a couple of weeks, and with nobody to play before release I’ve avoided the online experience. Stay tuned for further updates.

The fact there are still a few bugs on release is just an aspect of modern gaming we’ve all had to get used to, but to be fair to the Project Cars team, they have waited as long as possible to make it run as smooth as possible. With a bit of TLC and patch-delivering DLC, this game will be brilliant. It hasn’t quite done enough to topple the big guns quite yet, but it’s a valiant effort and is genuinely great fun to play.

PU (Netherlands): 85/100

Hardcoregamer: 4/5
http://www.hardcoregamer.com/2015/05...t-cars/147245/

Simply put, Project CARS is simulation racing done right. The subtlety of the nearly countless gameplay tweaks, combined with a robust open Career mode, makes for an experience that racing fans should fall in love with. Of course, none of this would be possible without driving that feels tight, workable and exciting, which is certainly present in droves. Oh, and it’s hard not to notice that this is quite possibly the best looking racing game of all time. Outside of its cluttered user interface, everything about Project CARS seems to be thoughtfully designed, which should be a testament to having the power of the community assisting development. Polyphony Digital and Turn 10 Studios should be on the look-out, a new challenger has approached.

Shacknews: 6/10
http://www.shacknews.com/article/894...ng-up-the-rear

There are over 70 vehicles available to drive in Project Cars, and they all look and sound accurate to their real-world representations. I could only assume they also perform just like the real thing as I have never sat behind the wheel of any of these cars, like the BMW Z4 GT3 or McLaren P1. All of my previous video-game driving experience went out the window as I needed to rely on real-world driving mechanics to succeed in Project Cars. Instead of keeping the gas pushed down for the majority of the race, I needed to ease off of it a lot more as I finessed my car through the twists and turns of each track. I also needed to make sure I didn’t accelerate too far into a turn or else I would find myself sliding off of the track.

Because of that, I feel Project Cars won’t receive the mass appeal games like Forza Horizon 2 or DriveClub have received. Instead, only those who are really into realistic driving simulators may flock towards Project Cars, although they might get bored easily considering there really aren’t any unique game modes either. It carries a sense of realism in spades, but there isn't much under the hood. At least it supports VR headsets, so I could also see those looking to get that level of immersion within their racing games giving Project Cars a shot. Outside of those target demographics, Project Cars will most likely frustrate mainstream racing fans with its real-world driving mechanics, but may entertain realistic driving simulator fans who know their way through similar games. One thing is for sure: Slightly Mad has created one beautiful racing sim that highlights the look and feel of high performace vehicles.

Vandal Online (Spanish): 8.8/10
http://www.vandal.net/analisis/pc/project-cars/15549

Softpedia: 8.5/10
http://www.softpedia.com/reviews/gam...w-480298.shtml

Project Cars is a great racing simulator with a huge amount of cars, tracks, and options to customize. While newcomers might not appreciate the heavy-handed driving aids or get overwhelmed by the staggering number of things to experience, it's worth the commitment.

Netzwelt (German): 9/10

PC Gamer: 83/100
http://www.pcgamer.com/project-cars-2/

Beautiful, bold and varied. Slightly Mad are uncompromising in their simulation

Attack of the Fanboy: 4.5/5
http://attackofthefanboy.com/reviews...t-cars-review/

The collaboration between Slightly Mad Studios and its community of fans have led to fantastic results. Project Cars is one the best, and most authentic racing experiences we’ve seen in quite some time.

BILD (German):
http://www.bild.de/spiele/spiele-tes...8770.bild.html

Project Cars is the most complete racing experience of this generation.

GQ:
http://www.gq-magazine.co.uk/enterta...ai-slightlymad

Some will complain at the lack of licensed cars, but they're missing the point. Project Car's excellent career mode will have you jumping from one racing class to another - learning and re-learning as you progress is all part of the challenge, and it is one that never fails to satisfy. At the game's peak, in a 24-hour endurance race against 30 other competitors, with rain lashing down and darkness setting in, Project Cars becomes something truly spectacular.

Review in progress:

Godisageek: http://www.godisageek.com/2015/05/pr...w-in-progress/

Design-wise, so far it holds up. At times it can be incredibly pretty, though at no point would you say it looks better than DriveClub. The menus (which you’ll spend a lot of time in) are the easy to navigate tiles that are all the rage at the moment, though they could perhaps be better presented.

Eurogamer.net http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/20...torsport-games

That Career mode, though; some of us have been looking for its like for almost a decade. The earnest, hard-fought drama of its real-world track action is enough to earn Project Cars a recommendation for any fan of a good, old-fashioned motor race.

IGN US: http://www.ign.com/articles/2015/05/...ll+Articles%29

Project CARS isn’t for everybody. It’s a serious, deep, and demanding racing simulation for people who like their motorsport pure. There’s no pop punk soundtrack, or explosive takedowns, or generous rewinds. Project CARS has set out to capture the experience of manhandling a real racing car around a long list of some of the world’s most famous racing circuits and, despite a couple of frayed edges, it has thoroughly succeeded. Tough but satisfying and cruel but fair, Project CARS is a truly fantastic racing game with the potential to become a real force in the genre. But it’s not for everybody.

It is, however, for anybody – and this is an important distinction. Project CARS is probably the most user-friendly racing game I’ve ever played.

n3rdabl3: http://www.n3rdabl3.co.uk/2015/05/pr...ntastic-racer/

Overall though, in few words, Project CARS is a pretty fantastic game, it’s so far scoring quite highly here at n3, we’re just hoping that as soon as players begin to populate the servers, we don’t end up with a DriveClub situation. From what we’ve seen so far though, we’d definitely recommend the game for the career and solo play alone.

Gamespot: http://www.gamespot.com/articles/pro.../1100-6427121/

The Sixth Axis: http://www.thesixthaxis.com/2015/05/...-project-cars/

There’s a number of rough edges then, and it takes a while to get used to, but there’s still a lot to like about Project CARS. Put a little effort into tweaking the game to suit you, and there’s plenty to enjoy here, whether it’s tackling the unique career, dropping in for a single quick race or heading online to duke it out on track with your friends.

Anybody know of some good quality component to hdmi switch boxes that actually have more than ONE input? Seems like they all only allow one connection at a time from the ones I've seen.
