I mostly played Yoshi's New Island, but I also played Zelda: ALBW, Luigi's Mansion 2, and Borderlands 2 on PC.

Strangely,I kind of want an Xbone for this.  Sadly, this shouldn't be the only reason. Sad

Been playing

Vlcsnap-2014-03-20-19h30m40s165.png

Beat this guy, which proved less of a problem than I imaniged, only to be slapped in the face with a chapter over an hour long.  How in Paradiso's name am I supposed to get a good rank on that?!  Not only is it longer than any other chapter before, it's also quite the difficulty spike.

Still not sure if I'm playing this right.  I know a few with weaves by hearth now, and I just keep spamming those inbetween dodges and whatnot.

Learn your weaves and dodge offset a lot. Keep combos going for high scores, use the shoot button to keep damaging when you are away from enemies (you have a few seconds to do an attack so its not that hard). Its all about timing, try to enter witch time as much as possible. Learn which weapons you enjoy using best. Usually have a heavy hitter and a fast quick set.

I am sorry, but it can't be good.  It's scientific fact, as it's developed by Arzest, who made the cringeworthy Yoshi Topsy Turvy.  Seriously, that game is so bad, it must be some kind of metaphore for Yoshi hitting a streak of bad luck, getting in deep financial troubles, ending up an alcoholic, losing his house, and in the end being forced to sell his body doing favors for burly sailers who like kinky stuff, long tongue and riding some rough shell.  It was that bad.

I consider Yoshi's New Island to be a close second to the original. It's that good, IMO.

Thanks for the tips.  I think part of my problem is that I keep trying to pull off long combo's instead of efficient ones.  There's just something about spanking your foe's (PPPKK.P) that doesn't get old  Nyaa  I also hardly move, I attack and I dodge.  I'm trying to unlock some extra moves that come in handy in different situations (skidding into an enemy from a distance, stomping from nearby to launch them on their back).  I still think that there are too many combo's though, I often end up pulling off something other than I was aiming for.  Haven't paid much attention to keeping my combo's going though.  Also a big fan of the sword as it's lightning fast.

I find this hard to believe, knowing Arzest's, formerly Artoon's, track record.  But hey, I'll give it the benefit of doubt and take your word on it.  Maybe if I find it in a bargain bin one day...

Yeah most just end up sticking with simple combos that unleash a weave quick. Save the long combos when you got someone stunned in witch time or in an air juggle. When in witch time it is a good time to launch enemies in the air. Yeah forget moving, you should be dodging almost all the time.

Fair enough.

I enjoyed Artoon's Yoshi's Island DS. I wish I still had it. I'll have to find another copy soon.

Artoon's Yoshi's Island for the DS was incredible. One of the best and most underrated DS games if you ask me. A lot of that game was tough as nails too.
