GT6 event is going live RIGHT NOW.
BTW it leaked already. GT6 coming to PS3 in Nov. all of GT5 cars plus new ones, three new locations with many new tracks. More custom car options.
Same shit.
That's fine. What would you have wanted, GT2000 again? Polyphony wouldn't have had time for a proper GT for the PS4 launch, it would have been up-rezzed garbage. Sony will be selling PS3's for years to come, this extends their first party library a little while longer.
Another thing to consider is that GT and God of War 3 were the best sellers this generation for Sony, both games have long tails.
Clearly GT6 is just a test for GT7.
NEW PHYSIC ENGINE
NEW RENDERING ENGINE
TOTALY REWORKED SUSPENSION AND TYRES
TESELATION
Suspension Companies helped a lot PD to model suspension
I would want a brand new GT for PS4 within 2 years which if they never made GT6 would be a possibility. They are simply making the same mistake they made with GT5 and I dont know why anyone would want another GT game like GT5. That said it looks like GT6 is already running on a new PS4 engine so the prep work is there.
new user interface, focuses on quick response and short load times. balances directional key operation and touch operation
"create your own racing series and championships to compete online"
new course maker coming
"GT6 is already running on a new PS4 engine so the prep work is Gran Turismo 6 for PS3"
LOL I love it, here's the PS4 Engine running on PS3, why do we need new consoles again?
Would love to see the tessellation effects on PS3.
The PS4 engine thing is my speculation but come on , clearly this engine will be what they will be using for GT7
Ubisoft talking about their Disrupt PS4 engine makes me laugh, they've used the extra power to simulate wind direction and the way the waves in water move - for a game not set on the water. Then they say themselves that it's "almost imperceptible". Why even bother?
Well all these engines would simply be running on half power on the current gen consoles. To really see what the engines can do next gen is needed.
the uisoft thing is funny.
This is very interesting. Mario without counting handhelds is still #4. Guitar Hero which has been dead for half the gen is still at 6. How quickly did they kill that off, amazing what market saturation does. Mario Kart Wii is one game, still on the list. Go Sonic!!! GTA one game as well, still in the top 20. Such a missed oppertunity for them this gen, at least we get GTA5 this year.
This last game under podcast is amazing. It helped me get through my boring drive. I am still in the middle of the horror expert, can't stop listening. Full reaction later which I will post here and on the game under podcast.
Brilliant stuff guys.
So I listended to the lastest game under podcast which is simply brilliant. You guys have to listen to it. Before I get to the horror section I want to talk about the impressions of L4D2 and HL2 by Foolz. Now I love listening to Foolz, his way of explaining game design and why he enjoys certain aspects to others is excellent. When I agree with him it is like I agree with him almost totally. But there are certain games where it seems like his brain shuts off and in the context of this podcast I am speaking about HL2. One of the biggest reasons I like being in a podcast and not listening to them is because when I listen I can't respond. So here I am driving, getting road rage just cause of Foolz trashing HL2.
I for the life of my don't understand how someone that appreciates pacing and great gameplay in certain games, all of a sudden can hate a game that does those things. HL2 to me is the most brilliantly designed FPS of all time. Maybe I like it too much but at the very least the public perseption is that its one of the all time greats. The pacing and design in that game is simply amazing. In almost every way it is the RE4 of the FPS. The game introduces new kinks to the gameplay constantly. No two game areas repeats the same kind of situation. It flows from one style of gameplay to another masterfully, hell it even explores multiple thematic genres as you play. That said I totally agree with your points on the way the story is presented. Anyway I still love you Foolz.
The reason to listen to the podcast is because of the horror section and Robert, their excellent guest. I loved it all but have some notes as I listened.
Nightmare on Elm Street the game was pretty cool. Aspro you find bones in the game, you fight parts of Freddy as bosses.
Sweet Home absolutely is very important. I was judging how much of a horror expert this man is entirely based on how he explains the origins of Resident Evil and unlike many that know nothing and think Alone in the Dark is the inspiration, it is not. He passes the test.
Aspro excellent comparison of women in bikini's not exactly being erotic and games with pointless gore not being horrifying.
Obsession with homes, Resident Evil was about a home too. That is amazing how all the seminal moments in horror gaming involve homes.
Resident Evil sold about 5.1 million Foolz. Robert is not a fan this interview sucks now.
Absolutely correct on how RE changed the age of the gamer. It is also one of the first games to really create a true cinematic experience, remember this was 2 years before MGS came out. It started the track that pretty much all games have started to follow. Resident Evil is easily one of the most influencial games ever made.
Foolz is crazy, there are ton of jump scares, the Hunters come to mind. I could do an entire two hour podcast on Resident Evil 1 alone. Sweet Home is the game Mikami credits as his inspiration for RE. Now he claims he says he didn't even know of AitD, which I don't even believe but I do believe Sweet Home had more impact. AitD and RE are very very different games.
Robert loves RE4, interview redeemed! Foolz is mostly correct. RE4 far more envokes "ok time to take out this bitch" rather than any kind of dredd. Though there are sections in that game that just freaked me out like the hedge maze or the sewers with the nosvistadors. Aspro what a great breakdown on why horror is not so popular. RE4 is practically tied with RE5 as the best selling RE game with about 6+ million sold, of course RE4 has been rereleased a million times over. Spot on about Revelations.
Sadness is the wii game that never came out. Lets not talk about that crap. It was always fake.
Silent Hill is what I consider to be the scariest game ever made. Nothing made me feel like that. Never played Condemned.
EXCELLENT podcast. Robert was a great guest.

**Do I take away from this a cool story about Sexism or do I just focus on the thong...? Hmmm...**
I'm going to see Star Wars... er I mean Trek tonight!
GME I will make sure to tell you how amazing it is.
Hate to admit it, but I'm somewhat of a changed man after my little BioShock Infinite encounter. I've become a man possessed and have been trying to examine what makes something 'scary' for me. It affected me on a such a deep down level, I'm trying to understand it all better. To that end, I've been playing almost nothing but the original BioShock and **after Vader's testimony** Doom BFG Edition for 360.
I'm not one to be scared normally. Books, movies, most games have absolutely no effect on me. It takes real life events like Super Storms and/or extreme violence directed AT me to frighten me, NORMALLY. I don't count a phobia like my fear of water/drowning as the same thing. I normally stay calm and become hyper-aware in situations people find scary. Infinite worked it's way into my mind very quiety, secretly and discretely and THAT'S what intrigues me the most.
The subject of the Down Under podcast, of course, then interests me too, but I have to find time to sit for that long to listen to it. I've just been very restless and fidgety lately to the point where I find it hard to sit still.
