Much better overworld and side quests. Exploration is a big part of Zelda and I felt SS didn't allow for that.
This is a serious question? It's incredible.
Thanks for reminding it I just got it from Club Nintendo.
SUPER MARIO MAKER LEVELS:
That's too bad. And, Hi Homer!
Yup. (link to "Did you guys know Metroid is a girl?" thread on IGN).
As a dude who beat it late last year for the first time, I'd say absolutely.
Hell, yes! Play it now!

Tell me to get back to rewriting this site so it's not horrible on mobileZelda 2 is a good game that pales in comparison to the standard of numerous excellent entries in the series. Phantom Hourglass is simply bad by any standard.

Tell me to get back to rewriting this site so it's not horrible on mobileThanks, I clicked it but still missed the edit symbol.
The tauren boss in dork souls is kicking my crotch.
TP is traditional Zelda and apes Ocarina (and hence ALttP also), but I can't forgive it much for the barren overworld, pathetic difficulty, plot holes and plot points not taken advantage of, annoying wolf segments, tedious side quests, non-use of so many items (including the slingshot, which quickly becomes useless) and more. Some of its dungeons were quite good, Midna was a fantastic character, and the multi-phase final boss battle was great, but otherwise, I find it rather boring, bland, and annoying. After going through Skyward Sword, I was also annoyed by the half-assed sword-swinging motion controls -- I'd rather they'd just let us use a button (though the spin attack is ok).
LoZ is a game I just can't get into, mostly because of the enemy difficulty, lack of a decent map system, and the fact that there are usually no clues as to where to bomb/burn -- bombs are rare and cost a pretty rupee, and there are way too many rocks and bushes. I should note, however, that the first Zelda game I played was Link's Awakening, which was released after ALttP set the gameplay precedent for the series.
See, the thing that annoys me about WW and TP is that exploration is mostly unrewarding (though it's probably better in WW): go through a little cave to reach a chest containing... oh look, 20 rupees that my wallet -- the largest in the game -- can no longer hold, and I have nothing to spend money on anymore. Pieces of Heart? What's the point of getting them when the game's as difficult for a seasoned player as solving "1+x=5" for x is to someone with a Ph.D. in mathematics? I'll take the constant presence of stuff to do -- such as in Skyward Sword -- over having multiple pointless things to do in a very barren world (as in TP, and much of WW) any day. I don't think I've been satisfied with exploration in a Zelda game since Minish Cap or the Oracles. For the most part, if I want exploration, I'll play Bethesda's games. Now, if Nintendo would like to put some good exploration back into Zelda, I'd be all for it! Heck, the game I'd like to make, myself, is a Zelda clone with more exploration than the Zelda series has ever seen!
--------------------------
Looking at that numbered game list on the previous page, I have to ask: is there going to be something changed in the WW HD remake that makes the Triforce fetch quest less tedious?
On the topic of exploration in Zelda games, how about sidequests similar to Arkham Asylum/City. You meet a man who gives you clues, similar to the Riddler's clues, that you must explore. Your reward: a piece of the heart, an extra jar, an optional weapon, perhaps a hidden fairy well where you are granted a new magical power.
Oh dear...I just read through Edge's list and the only thing that seemed remotely interesting is the TWW remake...not even Pikmin 3. I blame The Ship.
I am at the stage where my enthusiasm for a game is whether or not it is interesting. It is no longer a matter of anticipation of fun or even having favorite developers, but more of how a game contributes something "interesting" (regardless if it has impact or not).
This could be a short-term response to my binge-playing of Crackdown 2 though.
For me 2013 is interesting enough. Interesting to see how much Rockstar has grown or otherwise since GTAV. Last of Us may be something. Interested in Tomb Raider, if not just to see what is likely the highpoint of Crystal Dynamics era with the franchise. And also for DmC, just to see how Ninja Theory is growing.
But if none of those games tickle your fancy, we'll soon have a deluge of titles announced once Sony takes off the NDA status of PS4.
How I read your list:
After reading that my first inclination was to ask if you've already been drinking. But as I read it, your list made a hell of a lot more sense. Helps that I actually had to look up what MC was.
I've been at that stage since the beginning of this generation, but now apparently I've gone a step further. Pikmin 3 should surely interest me. Then again, it's the third in a series so maybe nothing's really changed after all.
Also all the things you mentioned are interesting from an industry stand point, but I can't really think of anything about them that could possibly make me want to play them. Except maybe GTAV. That probably needs to be experienced first hand to a degree given the GTAIV debacle.
