I don't understand what this even means. Streaming games to the console? What?
Agreeeeed.
And stuff like that will obviously be even better on this Nintendo pad.
Not cool a year from now when PS4 and 720 blow the Wii U away.
Though just it being HD will absolutely change the way it handels lesser graphics, it will never be as ugly as this gen was.
Yeah, they are going to partner with a streaming game service so you can play streaming games on the PS3, if you have an awesome connection.
Another piece to the streaming game puzzle, the sony interrupt your game with ads. Watch PS+ offer the streaming service for free but you get ads. Watch.
You have to make a a lot of assumptions there. We know nothing about their next machines, if they go for a Kinect or Wii U controller type differential then they have less money to spend on specs. Sony is tight on cash at the moment too, how willing will they be to splurge? The rumours so far are that Sony's machine will be good but its not something that is going to look that much different from PC games of the moment and probably mid-range PC not bleeding edge stuff, by the time it comes out. MS rumours are crazy, 16 cores, tablet controller, built in Kinect etc.
A lot of people were let down with how UE4 looks even. It's not just pixel pushing either, if Wii U can handle the same effects or simulate the same effects, their versions of games will not look that bad.
I doubt the new machines will do anything that a top end PC of today can't, the rumoured graphics cards for all the machines aren't even PC cutting edge, they are mid to low range so I don't know what you are expecting.
I am expecting a reason to buy a new console...
^Well it only makes sense that a system with better tech would get better games.
Sony patents method to interrupt your gaming with an ad
The day this happens is the day I stop gaming. Don't we have enough fucking commercial bullshit everywhere we look as it is?
Zone Of the Enders HD Collection images !
I'm only buying this if it comes with an HD version of the packed in Japanese MGS2 demo.
Hello,
I know it is late in the booking process, but hopefully you will have an open slot. Gaikai, created by David Perry (Earthworm Jim and 100 other games), has some major announcements in store for E3 that have the potential to change the future of video games, game consoles and how we play. Gaikai will change the way you view consoles.
We would like to invite you to the Gaikai meeting room (Room 306 above the South Hall) on June 5, 6, or 7 to hear all about Gaikai's disruptive plans from the Company's CEO, David Perry.
Tuesday (6/5) - Noon thru 5pm. Presentations will begin every half hour. If you can't make the presentation, come by for drinks from 5-7pm.
Wednesday (6/6) - Noon thru 5pm. Presentations will begin every half hour. If you can't make the presentation, come by for drinks from 5-7pm.
Thursday (6/7) - Noon thru 6pm. Presentations will begin every half hour.
Space is limited in each presentation, so please let us know as soon as possible when you can come by and we'll schedule you in. If you plan on bringing a video camera, please let us know and we'll reserve a special spot for you.
We look forward to hearing from you!
Best regards,
Jim

This is going out to all media outlets.
Which for you would be what?
I'm guessing that Sony and MS are not just going to release a normal console with more power and a traditional controller. I think they will try and have a big feature like Kinect, Move etc.
I remember a few years ago when we all made fun of Onlive and their voodoo magic presentation. I believe we had a podcast on it, good times.
Weird my post got cut off.
Anyway, I was gonna say the day we get in game ads like TV commercials is the day I stop gaming. Defeats the whole purpose. Don't we have enough commercial bullshit to deal with?
And ZONE OF THE ENDERS HD......only interested if it comes with an HD version of the Japanese MGS2 demo!
You guys think that was awesome? Really? I thought it was all pretty lame myself.
They already added those to the P3 and 360. Yes a new console is about more power. I know at this point they may just do it cause its time to do so rather than for any major tech jump but still that is what I expect. If not what is the point.
I think you're in the minority there man.
Just playing sports games alone, me and my friends all loved it. Had a blast not being able to see exactly what plays people were using.
Some gaffer with an excellent idea:
"Now how megaton worthy would it be if Sony announced the Gaikai partnership in order to bring PS4 demos to PS3 users?"
Okay, I can see that being useful, but I don't play sports games. Being able to see my health in RE was useless, IMO, because I could easily tell how badly I was hurt just by looking at my character on my TV screen, and I never found any of those VMU mini games to be fun at all.
I don't forsee a huge jump from Sony or Microsoft man. Not with the rumored graphics cards the machines are based on. And if any of them DO have a huge jump, you'd be better off buying a PC anyway for the amount of money it will cost. I feel like Sony and Microsoft are only upgrading because they feel like they have to since Nintendo is.
It was a genius idea that never really got used to its full potential, whether because of the limitations of the screen or developers just not knowing wtf to do with it. But I don't think Nintendo will have that problem.
