WiiWare sales now almost non-existent

Sad, but I'm not surprised at all. Hell I was one of WiiWare's biggest supporters and it's been at least a year since I've bought anything off of WiiWare. Save the stuff you're working on for Wii U or the 3DS guys.

I think I'm going to schedule some surgery for the weekend before E3, so I can have an excuse to watch it while I recover. Got a feeling the new evil overlords that bought my company really wouldn't want me watching the E3 coverage in the office.

Eh the surgery is nothing. Totally optional thing that I don't really need to have done for a while. As far as the job though, I used to have the greatest employers in the world. It was a small company and the owners knew the names of everyone who worked for them. But they sold us last fall to a very ruthless medical equipment company - the kind that 60 Minutes does stories on to expose horrible things.  I absolutely hate my job now. First time in almost 15 years that I can say that.

That is terrible. I cant imagine hating where I work every day.

Yep, it's not fun. They offer amazing benefits, insurance, 401K, etc so I keep that in mind when I start to feel unhappy. My family is taken care of with them, and at the end of the day it's only a few hours a day. Nothing I can't endure. But still I'm looking for a new position right now, but sadly Orlando is an awful place for anything but jobs relating to hospitality or tourism.

I think a big part of the problem is people have caught on to Nintendo's shitty purchase system and don't like the idea of needing to use the Wii to use their purchases forever, instead of just having it all tied to an online account system. That's a big reason I stopped buying their shit on the virtual console anyway.

I really don't mind that so much, though it's definitely annoying. For me it's just been a complete and utter lack of good games. I think the last truly good WiiWare game was Fluidity and that's like a year old. When good games come out so rarely, after a while it's just a chore to bother to keep up with what gets released at all.
