I'm having a visit from my inlaws this weekend, so not too much gaming for me. A bit of U3 MP and that's that.
I've been playing a lot of this game...a lot.
One of the rare games where multiplayer and the main campaign are just as equally fun. I'll talk more about the ending later, but for now, I'll just say it certainly goes out on a high note. Last night, we attempted to finish 50 waves of Horde mode and beat 49. As disappointing as that one was, it's also still a high mark when it comes to mp gaming. Horde mode rules! I can't disagree with Gamespot's score of 9.5. If you have a 360 then you're gonna want to experience this game.
Steel is somehow still awesome at U3. I am still lost.

Am I reading that right? Sony is finally going to start releasing downloadable PS2 games on the PS3? If so, its 5 years late, but great news.
When one of those games is God Hand, it doesn't matter when they do it.
Yeah I'm stoked about what games Sony has put up there. God Hand, Odin Sphere, GrimGrimoire, and the Maximo games (recipiant of the award for "Worst Marketing Idea of All Time").... these are all excellent titles. Suddenly the holidays are looking a lot more busy for me.

Oh forgot to mention somethiing. This weekend I picked up an Xperia Play. My cellphone plan was due for an upgrade and if I went for the XP I wouldn't have to pay a nickel for it. So it was a matter of dropping a hundred dollars for another smart phone or taking the XP for free. Seemed like a no brainer.
It feels like a freaking brick in my pocket. I know that's only in comparison to other smaller newer phones, but geez this thing is not compact. The control pad is actually pretty nice and I played some Crash Bandicoot with it. Doesn't control quite as smooth as a regular dualshock controller, but this really isn't bad at all. Fucking travesty that Sony refuses to support this thing. So with that in mind I'll be loading up emulators left and right to find out what kind of real potential this thing has.
Been trying out Zelda 4 Swords on 3DS.
It's a pretty nifty game and now playable in single player. No real story or anything, just puzzles.
You know these Nintendo games that you often view as failed experiments? They're actually pretty cool. You can see how they've worked to make a multiplayer zelda work and how co-operation is the key to survival.
I don't like the default movement speed but you can upgrade that with collecting things on each level. Your basic aim is to solve enviromental puzzles to earn rupees on each stage.
Without a contract this thing is £300.
I don't know who the market was.
Truth be told, I'm the market, though I don't know many people like me there are. I have nothing against mobile gaming. I see a lot of potential for it, and I am ready to embrace it. The only real drawback to it was a lack of a controller. Touchpad doesn't cut it. The Xperia Play fixed that and did it fairly well. Problem is, not many developers are accomodating those controls. SO far there's all of maybe 100 games that allow you to customize the controls. Of those, I've played one - Zenonia 3, which is okay but not great. The PSX games were supposed to be the equalizer, but Sony more or less screwed that over.
Pondering old consoles at the moment.
Do you think there should be an obligation by hardware makers (still in business) to repair old consoles?
Especially seeing how it might be the only way to play an old game you have?
I know some companies are putting old games up on digital services and charging you to buy them again. Don't you think that if you already bought the game full price in a real hard format like a CD or DVD you should be able to play it somehow, should something every go wrong with your machine?
