Resistance 3 beta seems fun. I need to play more as my character is very underpowered.
Capcom "aggressively" seeking overseas partnerships
Matthew Handrahan
Japanese publisher Capcom has released a note to investors highlighting acquisitions and mergers with Western companies as an immediate priority.
The note outlines the need for Capcom to increase sales of its game business outside of Japan to ensure future growth.
"Acquisitions and partnerships are one of the important strategies for increasing our market share overseas," the note reads.
"We aggressively seek the opportunities of acquisitions and partnerships for the purposes of creating game content with universal market appeal and acquiring technologies and know-how required for our 'Single Content Multiple Usage' strategy."
The note discourages any takeover bids on the grounds that they lead to employee departures, which compromises the value of the acquired company. As such, Capcom favours partnerships, which could lead to acquisitions in the long term.
However, similar deals with Japanese companies are explicitly discouraged.
"A merger with a large Japanese game or toy manufacturer is not being considered as a serious option since it would not make a significant contribution to growth in our overseas sales. Furthermore, this type of merger also poses the risk of limiting our activities involving the licensing of game content."
Capcom's focus on appealing to Western gaming markets has been a defining feature of its strategy over the last few years.
And that is why they fail. Where is the Capcom we all loved? Where is the Capcom of last gen that was redefining genres left and right? Its sad to see.
I never loved Capcom.

Watch
These
Videos!
What do Steel and the Denver International Airport have in common? Watch on! FUCKIN' HILARIOUS!
You have to see the Jerad DePardu one. He breaks down and giggles like a little girl. Its incredible.
Anderson Cooper is awesome when he is not super serious news man.
I <3 Anderson Cooper.
Elegant, NYC-based, former model and not-so-secret homosexual man.
He's so witty and has a thing for stories about phalluses.
He reminds me of someone.
Edit: Saw the Giggly Video! I wish I could embed the videos here, but they are all protected on YouTube!
I didn't know he was gay. Makes sense.
I remember him from the show The Mole.
Well, it's rather well known, but he's just not able to come out and say it. Something about being a Vanderbilt and famous and in the public eye... No idea what that's like! Must be hell for him.
So dumb that he cant come out and say it if everyone knows. So Vanderbilt huh?
LOL, something about him saying "SAUCEY!!!" in the third video craps me up.
READ WHAT YOU JUST POSTED AGAIN!
The third video is by far the best. The street names!
"I had no idea penguins have that big a package... I mean how do they even waddle?"
They left the company.
This is why most Japanese developers have gone downhill other than Nintendo's teams and maybe Kojima Productions, because all the top talent has decided to move on to these small niche teams that do not have the budget to compete with western devs, regardless of skill.
28 hours into Xenoblade
*hugs SDTV*
Makna forest looks great. Shame about the pop up, otherwise it might be my favourite area in the game. Like Iga said it's like a real jungle, so much foliage and space. It feels like a cross between walking through the forest in Princess Mononoke, the forest in LOTR and the forest in the Avatar movie.
Such beautiful music, which is on the free soundtrack BTW.
Then, I went into Nopon village.
OMG, the music is like the Studio Ghibli film Pom Poko, the inside is just magical and huge. Absolutely love it.
I have a couple of questions about levelling up. You know you can only have 3 active party members for battles? When you level up, do the active members get levelled up but the non-active ones, do they get points or not? I have been using Reyn, Shulk and Sharla because I assumed that I had used them the most and invested a lot into levelling them up. Then recentely I checked my party page and the other two characters are the same level, 33.
If this is the case and the whole party levels evenly that would be so cool and would free me up to experiment more with changing party members up. So let me know what you guys think.
Driver san fran on Wii looked good in screens. The videos are terrible though, the pop up is horrendous, there are barely any other cars on the track and where are the pedestrians? It looks like Crazy Taxi, only with more pop up.
I saw that Playstation tablet story yesterday, it's like the Xperia phone, only plays digital version PS1 games you have to pay for. Why even bother calling them Playstation tablets? Old ass games on an expensive tablet. Seems pointless to me.
