EA made as much money on PS3 software as it did on Xbox 360 for the first time in the quarter ending December 31st 2010.
Net revenue for PS3 was up 19 per cent year-on-year to $282m. In contrast, Xbox 360 revenues fell 18 per cent to $285m, leaving both with a 27 per cent share of EA's total market.
In the same period in 2009 Xbox 360 claimed a 28 per cent slice of EA's revenues and PS3 just 19 per cent.
Wii numbers were also down, tumbling 34 per cent to $130m. PSP was down 27 per cent at $22m and DS down 22 per cent at $49m. The biggest decline was seen on PS2, which saw an annual revenue decrease of 55 per cent to $20m.
Wii accounted for 12 per cent of EA's numbers followed by DS (five per cent), PSP (two per cent) and PS2 (two per cent).
Why's the Wii part bolded? Did they release something significant which makes it a surprise or a major point for the platform? Well, making $130m from mostly crap is quite the feat I guess.
NGP trailer is pretty sweet, maybe Sony's marketing will be decent this time?

Well that's promising for Last Story's chances of getting sent over here. I'm very curious to see the numbers. I think it's also cool that DKCR is still in the top 10. It may be a popular Nintendo character, but I still half expected it to tank simply because it was a Western developed game.

That's not as good as I hoped for The Last Story, but it's good. I just hoped for exceptional. I wonder if the temporary sold out state affected it, although it supposedly got another shipment the next day. Hopefully it lasts another week without a huge drop. This is three days of sales, not a full week, so maybe next week has a similar number. Still, as far as Nintendo is concerned it probably did fine since they had to send out a second shipment.

Calm down, I bolded all of the three consoles. EA's still the second biggest 3rd party, it's interesting to know where they are focused.
So EA's parody of Call of Duty -- 10 minutes long -- sounds like a good starter project for Respawn (West and Zampella) just to check the air in their development tires. You think they did it?

For reasons I'm not entirely clear on, my son has now become a Little Big Planet fan. The PS3 was originally meant to be "daddy's console" and he wasn't allowed to touch it, and for the most part he had no interest in it either. Then he saw me play the LBP demo and now he's a scheming fiend. He's learned how to turn on the PS3 using the DVD remote and will pile his toys together so that he can reach the mantle over the fireplace where I had previously considered the controller safe. I am not pleased...
Yeah, LBP seems to be a hit with the kids. My own daughters love it.

This past monday I sent back a movie on Netflix. Today I recieved a new one. Thats a two day turnaround.
With Gamefly I sent in a game on Monday, did not recieve one until Tuesday the following week. Gamefly SUCKS.
