Again, gnosticism pertains to knowledge, theism to belief.  You can believe or disbelieve without knowing.  Very few atheists claim to know there is no god; the term "atheist" only means a lack of the belief that there is a god.  No more, no less.  Saying you're not theist and not atheist is the equivalent of saying that you're both not guilty and not not guilty; agnosticism is not some middle ground between the two, it addresses an entirely different question.

Do you know that god exists? - Gnostic (yes) or Agnostic (not yes)

Do you believe a god exists? - Theist (yes) or Atheist (not yes)

One more before I go to sleep. You claim in this paragraph that people would do bad thing even if religion did not exist. They would simply use, or in your words, exploit whatever they can. And you claim that their would always be something available.

But if you claim that even without religion the bad things that are associated with religion would still exist. Than it surely means that the good thing associated with religion would also exist ? Heck you said it yourself. People would like to exploit what ever they can. So if they need comfort they will find another way even without religion. Many atheist find some comfort in various ways outside of religion.

So I ask you again what good is religion as a whole to humanity? Sure some individuals get some comfort from it, some get bad thing out of it.
