Nice Xbox controller in this youtube video. Dude took the superior analog sticks off the original DUKE controller, and added LEDS to the face buttons of a 360 pad.

I've also seen someone take the D-pad off the Xbox 1 S controller, and add that to the 360 pad. Its funny cuz the 360 pad has a better button LAYOUT than the Xbox 1 pads, but the Xbox 1 pads were made with better parts.

More traditional Castlevania gameplay has not been ignored. Levels have alternate routes and hidden items – you can grope for their secrets on your first run through, but you must often return with better abilities in order to reach them. There are puzzles, involving matching runes or rotating plinths and other such familiar staples. There's rather a lot of platforming, too, climbing around mossy, vine-covered ruins or using the grapple to swing between between stonework ledges.

The game's first boss, the Ice Titan, combines fighting and platforming in a really quite masterful riff on Shadow of the Colossus. As Gabriel enters the frozen Oblivion Lake, snowflakes sticking to and melting on the screen, an enormous creature of ice and stone rises from beneath. Dodging its massive fists, you wait for the opportunity to climb up onto its body and smash the rune seals hidden on its gigantic form, holding one of the shoulder buttons to hang on for dear life as it tries to shake you off.

I've heard this a lot on gaming podcasts and since I don't go out into the regular community, like GAF or System Wars, I don't know what the arguments or facts are surrounding the assertion.  Is there any basis in fact for such claims -- even if exaggerated for effect? Are the important internal components on the Wii and the GC the same?

The specs are irrelevant, only anal people get worked up about that. The Wii is clearly a last gen system in terms of power, thats the point. And since the Gamecube was Nintendo's last gen system it gets used as the comparison. That is all that story is trying to say, the Ubisoft dev is not trying to compare internal chips and specs.

It's something about "syncing data" with the servers I think, and it took FOREVER!!!

I know from PS3 owners that it's notorious for its updates and mandatory installs/downloads, etc.

Its all for the multiplayer, that is constantly getting tweaks and updates. Oh and you are downloading all the new map packs. When you pay for the pack all you are getting is a key to unlock what you already downloaded.

Yeah, I know.

But like Bugs says, there were over 1gig of updates when you first start the game and than another hour wait of syncing data when you start multiplayer.

Other than the new maps, I have no idea what else the game is updating.
