Meh. That game is sooo twenty-five minutes ago!

I'm now anticipating Metroid: OM.  

^ What is that video, some fan video. Anyway the other night I saw the real Alejandro video, I was trying to go to sleep changing channels and it was on VH1. I had heard it had something to do with gay's in the military or something, well the video completely ignored that. It was just Gaga dancing with a bunch of guys in underwear in black and white. Reminded me so much of a Madonna video, this lady is trying very hard to be Madonna. Its a good song mainly cause its an Ace of Base song in disguise.

Something (else) is not right in the world tonight!

I've been playing Peace Walker almost nonstop. The boss fights, while they lack character as they tend to be nameless troops supporting AI battlebots or standard (ish) military vehicles (there are still plenty interesting story characters, and I'm sure a few bosses will be like that, just not yet), are great, plentiful, and Monster Huntery.

Maybe I should spoiler some of this so someone tell me how to before everyone reads this:  Even the comic book like cut scenes are often surprising. Like, I was looking for a truck carrying nukes, and reached an area with several, so in the comic book cut scene it let me control which of the trucks Snake would examine. I didn't get the right one the first time but they all had something interesting or funny. Including Hideo Kojima who then joined my army, lol. And another one had metallic gears in so Snake went all "Metal... Gear?" in his famous tone. In another I was aiming and firing a missile launcher at some aircrafts or taking down soldiers in CQC. Good stuff.

There's also a ton of story for the game and characters with optional discussions among the main characters that join Snake's organization, discussing everything from real world events like the revolution(s) in Cuba to the game's plot (often related) and character backgrounds. They've packed a ton of stuff in here.

I've now grown my army to a decent size in all areas (battle crew, intel, medics, etc), researched lots of gadgets and weapons to use in the main story or the various side missions, got several camo suits suitable for different environments, sent out my troops in various random conflicts around the world to help get funds to further develop the mother base, and even started building my very own Metal Gear. It's so awesome to see and control Big Boss while building his first Outer Heaven that I've heard so much about in the previous Solid games (I haven't played the older Metal Gear titles). My idea of Big Boss was of a villain but after 3, PO and this, noway he is one.

I also like how you can check out the 3D models for pretty much all your weapons, vehicles, some characters, etc.

This is such a great title that does many great things for the series, it's not just a portable rehash of what's been done before, it's a true sequel. Though I do wonder how they could possibly keep some of these management elements in a future sequel since here it ties into the story of Big Boss but if you later play as some other Snake in another mission, they won't make sense. Though I suppose another Snake (or an old friend or foe?) could later follow Big Boss' footsteps. If only it had proper online modes, I guess I'll have to finally install and understand how to get Xlink Kai (it's like an unofficial Adhoc Party for PC) working after I progress some more.
