I dreamt last night that in an unprecedented move one of the major gaming websites named their GOTY in April.  Their logic was that no game could top it.

That game? Alpha Protocol from Obsidian.

I have no idea what synapses had to mis-fire to produce that dream, I have not invested emotionally in that game in any way, and there is nothing to indicate externally that the game is any good.  In fact, its development has been troubled.

Anyway, you heard it here first.

Well they kinda did that before when they were handing out all those 10/10s.

It's just that at the end of the year awards not all the greatest game ever games could come first.

So someone got a problem with out of date PS3 jokes? Argh!

Played a bit more of RS2.

Nice style. Good graphics. Competent FPS on the Wii.

How exactly does this use Motion Plus though? If you are just using gestures at certain times, how is this any different from the Wii mote?

Hamster? What am I missing here?

It IS fun, but I'm just not getting it.

Is it supposed to be in the aiming? The sword movement doesn't seem to me to be anything more refined than the normal left, right, stab towards the screen which we have already seen...

Here is what it does.

Gamesradar on red steel 2:

"Forget Red Steel. The first one, that is. It was a heavily hyped mess rushed out for Wii’s 2006 launch, one that failed to deliver on all its promises (precise aiming, intuitive swordplay, competitive graphics). Its deficiencies put the first of many dark clouds over Wii’s third party offerings, making the prospect of a Red Steel 2 less than enticing. But that’s exactly why you should forget the first, as this completely overhauled sequel is easily the best FPS on Wii and a wonderfully shocking example of how damn good a Wii-exclusive shooter can be."

This is what I was saying, with the right attitude, budget and devs, we could have been playing FPS as good as this for the past 3 and a half years.

We have been.....just not on the Wii. LOL

No Edgecrusher, I mean great, highly polished FPS with advanced IR controls, intelligent use of motion, physics based 3D object manipulation, even stretching to things like head tracking. Most dual analogue shooters have great productions, but play very similar to games of the past.

Ever have one of those days where you just can't get out of bed?

I'm not usually that kind of person.

It's not even the games making me want to stay home, I'm just suddenly exhausted.  Sad

I couldn't even play Infinite Space as I was laying down a few minutes ago. Blech.

Yeah. I can relate. I have bad discs in my neck (C4, 5 & 6) and lower back too, so back pain is an everyday thing for me also. There are days where I can't lift my head or where I can't stop squirming and shifting around trying to find a position so I am NOT in pain. It makes my job... challenging...

I am used to that though. Normally I can shrug it off and motivate myself to move.

Not so much today.

Maybe I'll loosen up with some Red Steel.  Hrm

What's a tootsie roll, and how is it relevant to the joke?

Gamespot editors reactions and gut feelings towards the 3DS.

http://uk.gamespot.com/features/6254064/index.html?tag=topslot;img;3

Fuck wow, professional, paid gaming website editors who are under the illusion that its just the current DS hardware with a 3D screen. Like a DSi XL 3D

Jesus gamespot:

Sophia Tong | Associate Editor

I'm really wondering how many more versions of the DS will come out before we see a new, completely revamped handheld. For those who don't own a Nintendo DS yet (What's the matter with you?), you're going to have a lot of options to choose from, but for the millions of us who do, I'm not sure if I want to keep buying a new one every couple of years.

Andrew Park | Managing Editor

OK. I get that Nintendo is trying to get me to rebuy its game hardware yet again (something it's done numerous times with its three, now four versions of the DS, and the three versions of the Game Boy Advance). What I don't quite get is why Nintendo is going in this particular direction.

Justin Calvert | Section Editor, Reviews

The prospect of 3D gaming on any platform doesn't excite me in the slightest, and the prospect of adding a fifth DS to my collection is worrisome if anything...........It worked with the Game Boy Pocket, the Game Boy Color, the GBA SP, the GBA Micro, the DS Lite, the DSi, and the DSi XL. Why should this one be any different?

Brendan Sinclair | Associate News Editor

The 3DS sounds like Nintendo jumping back into the race of trying to impress people with shiny graphics. And that's a race the company dropped out of years ago specifically because it recognized it couldn't win. (which way does the media want it now? Classic Coke or Coke Zero? )

Brian Ekberg | Senior Editor

There's no telling exactly when Nintendo will announce the successor to the just-announced 3DS, but considering the company's recent past, I'd say we can expect it sometime in the next two weeks.
