Somehow, I don't think it's a far-fetched figure. I don't really picture the EO games as being too front-loaded. Do we have any figures on the first months of the previous one? I think those games sell at a slow rate, but consistently thanks to word of mouth and favorable e-reputation.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see it sell as much as possible, but I'd be pretty shocked (and glad) if it broke 50K.

VG Chartz may not be the most accurate site in their numbers, but I seriously doubt they are off by that much.

I certainly hope you're right, wise sage. We'll find out soon enough, when the top 20 or so gets posted somewhere.

Keep in mind, the VG Chartz number is worldwide. It's been out in Japan since September.

They're advertising the shit out of it.  I see commercials for it all the damn time during the shows the kids watch on Nickelodeon, as well as when I watch the Food and Travel channels.  I think they're running spots for it on AMerican Idol too.  Ubisoft isn't holding back promoting it.  Just hope they do the same for Red Steel 2.

And isn't Dancing With the Stars the big show in the US right now?

Red Steel sold because there wasn't much to choose from. Call of Duty is a major IP which is what the Wii needs but they suck compared to the other versions. And Conduit was like feeding a starving man rotten meat.

None of them had the kind of effort that a ground up game on the level of Halo would require.
