Yes, Max Payne was in many ways was a masterpiece and has nearly as high of a criticial reception as Valve's work (unless of course you played the crappy PS2 version). The game had decent sales, but was is regarded by many (like me) as a cult classic. I think Alan Wake will follow a very similar path, and given Max Payne's excellent film-noir style story I have absolutely no doubts that Alan Wake will at least deliver a compelling story. BTW, Remedy also made Death Rally for the PC a long ass time ago, which was pretty badass.

GAF (via GameFAQs) is reporting that the online play for the PS3 version is regionless - and if it's any good (and can work well enough internationally), I'd love to have a few games against some people here.
I liked Max Payne but I wouldn't go that far. The sequel was about as cookie cutter as they come though. Those are the only remedy games I have played. Alan Wake was and probably still is the 360 game I am interested in the most, but now due to its Moby Dick like quality hunting that elusive white whale.
You set him up for that joke. When you said it I imagined a naked Gertsmann sitting on the faces of everyone here, smothering them with flab and manure. I will never set foot on giant bomb *shudders*

The man ruined GSpot as editorial director and with most of the same staff that death-watched over gamspots editorial demise. Now they've jumped ship to a whole new ship ripe for the wrecking. Personally I find that he's one of the worst games journalists I've seen and seeing him reach a position of seniority through longevity is painful more than anything else. Then Gertsmanngate comes along and turns him into the messiah. Well let's get the Passion of the Gertsmann going.
