I am so sad at the news of the Prince of Persia team being disbanded, the game is incredible. I just posted my review of it, really one of the best metroidvanias ever made. I don't know what we are supposed to do with AA high priced games now, there is just no market for them. I was part of the problem, I balked at the $40 price tag for what I thought was a standard length Metroid game but it's really big, and well worth it. Who's going to spend $40 on that when most Metroidvanias are priced around $20 and there are five million of them on steam. And who is buying a 2D game from a major publisher that isn't Nintendo.
I can't help but feel like this is also part of ubisoft's DRM biting them in the ass. Personally, I'm annoyed enough with it after playing Immortals, that I'm just fine if I never touch another Ubisoft game again. And I'm not alone on an island with this opinion.
I guess you could argue that that is in fact the gameplay? Finding your way and figuring out what the hell is goong on?
Most walking sims subtly guide you to important points of interest, this game just let's you wander anywhere. The environments are quite big, so a map would be useful.
I completed the Vanishing of Ethan Carter using IGNs guide.
I wouldn't even try freestyling this one. The environment is huge, there's no map and the stuff you need to find isn't marked in any way or easily visible.
Enjoyed it far more when I was actually uncovering the story. It's like Edith Finch but not as Batshit crazy.
Games around 4 to 5 hours long.
Visuals are very good, above any other switch game.
Started playing The Last of Us Part 1 Remastered this weekend. Very nice looking game for sure. Gameplay is solid and the story is interesting so far. Also played some Call of Duty Black Ops 6 campaign and multiplayer. Both have been really good and quite fun.
Most of my weekend was spent at a bat sanctuary up in Gainesville. But that was fun. I also squeezed in just enough time to finish up Cult of the Lamb.
I'm also going to New Orleans later this week for the Anne Rice Vampire Ball. So probably won't be playing much of anything for a while.
I was citytripping to Dublin with my dad this weekend and thus haven't played anything. Unless you count tectonic puzzles. We've never went on a trip with the two of us before, and I'll be honnest, it was totally inspired by my own age as I start to more and more ponder the concept of mortality, both his and mine own.
Just read an article about, and was alerted to the existence of 'smartvapes'. These are in essence cheap smartphones with a built in vape, aimed at younger users. They can allegedly be used to make calls and play some games on, with some games apparently also incorporating vaping as a gameplay element. Child protection over here is already ringing the alarm bells.
What horrible things these are, built to fully exploit those prone to addictions. I wonder how long it'll take for these things to incorporate some kind of gacha not-legally-gambling elements.

Not greatly excited. Willing to pay Switch tax to play some games portable but full whack for this?
The graphics look the same, mostly and the Wii U version had very few flaws.
I’m starting to doubt that the Switch 2 will launch by then. I think that they’ll announce it around that time and launch the system in the fourth quarter of 2025.
Yeah, this wait for the Switch 2 is getting excruciating.
Very interested in seeing how this will compare to the Wii U version. It looks like there will be some kind of extra content as it looks like there is some kind of hint to this at the end of the trailer.
The Firewall Studios, the team that made Concord, has officially been closed by Sony. So much for the idea that they were going to retool the game and make it free-to-play and microtransaction the fuck out of it.
Yeah, no shock that they're being disbanded. But I really did think they'd make a go with changing it around and getting some sort of F2P model out of the game, and try to recoup something. But if they're firing the whole team, guess that's not the case either. Sony is just going to eat it.
Thought they were going to at least take what they had retool it, repackage it, and put back out even call it something else and try to get something back out of it as well. Certainly doesn’t look like it now. Guess they deemed it to be throwing more good money after bad. Probably the right choice to be honest.

Trying to upgrade my magic.
This game is maddening, yet so addicting. Which magic is the most useful? I found the Meduss stone one good so far.

I played Dirt 5 (PS5), Ridge Racer and Wipeout (PS1) this weekend.

We can barely get him out of the house.
Now he has bladder cancer.
Xenoblade Chronicles X Definitive Edition coming to the Switch March 20th 2025! Happy happy! Joy joy!

That game had an optional HDD install. With switch's low speed RAM, would the textures suffer?

Yeah, sucks for those getting let go but not a terribly surprising outcome these days.
