Yeah, I learned my lesson years ago. Fortunately, there are plenty of other options these days.

I’m just going to go to my local Walmart or Best Buy to pick up Donkey Kong Bananza tomorrow. Really hyped for this game.

I remember going to EB Games the day Killer Instinct came out on the SNES. They were sold out and told me I should have pre-ordered it. I'd never heard of pre-ordering before. I went across the street to Best Buy and they had a display full of copies that were available for anyone.

Somehow pre-ordering became a requirement at all stores soon after. All of it was BS. Now companies want us to not only pre-order digtial games but pay them $20 extra to get it three days early. WTF?

Things have been getting more and more sparse around here these days. Was able to pick up Death Stranding 2 at my local Best Buy but Walmart never got any in. Bought Dragon’s Dogma 2 digitally because neither BB or Walmart ever got the game in. Those are some of the big games too, many smaller games never get stocked. Nintendo game selection is still good for now though. Don’t expect any issues picking DKB up at either store.

This is not the first time we've seen the Metroid Prime 5 rumor.

Yeah, the government channel and a commercial channel.  It was good, though. We were so bored that we'd take the TV apart and put it back together (amazed we didn't electrocute ourselves).  I told my brother, one day we'll be able to pause and rewind live TV. He said it was impossible. I explained we would be able to buffer the signal on some form of cassette (this was about 1983).

I was disciplined in year 2 because the teacher said, "Did you children watch Pam Ayers (poet) on the government channel last night. I said yes, in fact, we taped it. She challenged me, and I said, My parents taped it.  I was sent to the principal's office because it was fanciful that anyone at the time could own a video recorder, and I was lying. (I put all this together years later).

My Mum had taped the audio on a reel-to-reel recorder so we could listen to it when we wanted.
