I hate to say it, but I've really never liked any of the DKC games. The original was interesting enough, but that's the only one I've ever completed. I gave up halfway through Returns, and I don't think I made it to the third world on Tropical Freeze before putting it aside.

I don't know what it is that I'm missing, but I've just never been able to really get into them.

DKC 3 was the only one in the series I straight up didn't like.

I initially did not like playing as Diddy Kong in the original DKC; I only wanted to play through the game with Donkey Kong, but like Tails in Sonic 2, I eventually grew to like the character.

I need to play through DKC 1&2 again soon.

Well I guess my only option to progress in The Library of Babel is to watch a 4 hour long youtube playthrough with no timestamps.

I just watched 2 hours of it at 2x speed.

Still another 2 hours to go. Ugh

You may have seen that T-Prime addeded at his annual game list, and unfortunately included the apostrophe of doom in the URL. So here is the direct link. I've done like good deed for the year. I can now go back to being a cranky old man.

George is getting upset!

Now I've used every square inch of the Switch hdd and all my memory cards, I don't even have enough room to shuffle things around.

I used to leave a fair chunk free on the HDD to copy and move stuff between cards.

Elderand is on sale. It's a souls like Metroidvania with brutal looking combat and chunky character models.

Quite like it so far. Still getting used to the combat. I was worried it might be too difficult but you level up fairly fast and can hoard cash to buy better weapons.

It's funny, one of the best things I like about the game is clearly written text that a normal human being can read. No squinting or leaning forward. Why do most games make things squished or so small it's a pain in the ass?

Game could use more cutscenes, but the base game is decent. Worth it for $4

Third person camera work have improved a lot since the Gamecube/PS2 days; I'd forgotten how bad they were back then. Beyond Good and Evil's third person camera mostly works well enough but really sucks in smaller rooms, especially when you need to use stealth.

Watching this guy quietly play Breath of the Wild last night put me to sleep in my recliner within 20 minutes. Oddly relaxing.

I really want to try that! Unfortunately, VR still makes me feel sick except for GT7.

I'm putting up videos as I play through it on my YouTube.

Anyone like Ghostrunner?

I can't even make it past the first enemy puzzle.

I slide down, get shot. Or slide and leap, get shot. Or slide leap, shoot one enemy, only to get 1 hit killed by an offscreen baddie.

I'm finally at the point where I can recommend The Library of Babel.

There were some hurdles to overcome, but I've managed to progress with the game.

If you like cinematic/puzzle platformers mashed with adventure game aspects, it will hit home.

Thankfully you have me as a resource if you get stuck anywhere.

This weekend I finished Leon A playthrough of Resident Evil 2 Remake on the PS5 version. Such a good game. Have also been playing Avowed on the XSX through Game Pass. Seems like a pretty good game so far. Nice looking visually and the combat feels solid enough.

I've been curious about that game for a long time but I haven't picked it up yet.

I need to play my PSVR2 more often to get used to it.

I bought it close to release.  It's a very difficult game, in that you'll 'solve' the first 5-second bit after 10 attempts, then the following bit after 15 because you fumbled the first bit 5 times, and so on and so on.  I completed a couple of levels but then just gave up.

There was a similar game released some time later with white demons or something or other that was supposedly more forgiving.

I just can't play this game.

There's a demo if anyone wants to try it. If I bought it with no demo I'd be like, wtf is this?

There's a 2D game called KatanaZero I want when the price drops but I'm worried it might be similar.

I still have to play through RE3, but aside from that, I've played all of the remakes and all of the modern Resident Evil games. And I think I can say that RE2 is now my favorite in the series. I think it's perfectly balanced, and just the right length.

I need to get this off my chest regarding platformers.

How can you still be f-ing up the wall jumping in games this many decades after its invention.

So you want me to press the stick towards the wall I'm currently touching to bounce in the opposite direction?

Yet when I press jump, because the stick is facing towards the wall I'm currently touching I head right back to that wall and can't bounce off the opposing wall.

GREAT.

I'm hoping they port and sell RE2, RE3, RE4 RE7 and RE8 to switch 2 and sell them as cheaply as they sold re5, re4 etc

One thing I like in gaming is collections. Trilogy bundles or retro collections.

Reminds me when you used to be able to get dvd triple packs.

A good way to archive and keep your favourites.

I'm sure they will. Right now on the PS4 there's an RE2 and RE3 remaster combo that is regularly on sale for $15. If Capcom supports the switch 2. As much as I think they will, it seems like a no-brainer.
