Eidos is said to have worked on Kojima's OD for a year
09.12.25 - Eidos Montreal worked on the horror game OD (platform: TBA) from Kojima Productions for about a year. That's what Insider Gaming claims.
Sources report that the project was internally run as P21 and was developed in 2023 under the former name Overdose. The collaboration ended after Kojima Productions demanded that participating developers move to Japan and that the connection to Eidos Montreal be terminated. Around 20 developers were involved at that time.
Kojima Productions has not confirmed the report. Release: TBA (Europa)
I understand the complaints and I get it. I just don't agree with them. The Ice Belt is by far the best area in the game. When you start, you are trying to figure out what happened in the lab. Theres that feeling of loneliness, isolation, and a feeling of eerieness as you progress. Its quiet, no music with the power off and items that you see just out of reach. Then finally, the power is back on, the music kicks in and I am rolling right with it. Fantastic lighting, fantastic music as you make your way back up, finally able to get those items snd having to discover alternative routes. Its 100 percent Metroid and I love it.
The desert should only be half as big as it is. However, I'm having fun, discovering at least a dozen items so far. It would have been nice to have thede areas interconnected, but isn't this similar to Prime 3? Anyway, I'm loving this. Not everything works great but its fine, exploration is as important as ever.
I feel as though Retro is in a damned if you, damned if you don't situation. Get crucified for following the Prime formula too closely? Or get crucified for making too many changes?
All you described is story, if that's what you want ok but I don't play Metroid for a story, it's for incredible level design and compelling gameplay. That ice level was 20 something minutes of walking around rooms scanning for invisible stuff, then the power comes on and it's just a shooting gallery. It's all very linear, you don't have to think about the environment like in most Metroid games, all you are doing is moving from one room to the next fighting enemies like any action game.
The fire level was better but that felt like I was playing a Sony game, NPCs leading you around again from objective to objective. Nothing like Metroid. The best part has been between the main levels where you get a new item and can go back and get some hidden items in the older places, at least that has some of the Metroid spirit. Also the powers have been so underutilized. There are so many cool powers, where are the puzzles or any clever use of them. Only the psychic shot really gets any love. That more power seems like it can be used in so many clever ways, nope, nothing.
Combat is really sweet though best for the prime series.
Disney and Lucasfilm planned Star Wars KOTOR II remake by March 2025
12/09/25 - Disney and Lucasfilm Games stuck to a full remake of Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II until March 2025, as reported by GameFile.
This is according to court documents that became public as part of a statement by long-time Lucasfilm Games Vice President Douglas Reilly. Reilly confirmed that the project continued to appear in internal plans at this time.
Disney and Saber Interactive refrained from commenting, according to the report. The documents also show that internal considerations on the project had already been underway since 2020. A complete remake was planned, which would go beyond a technical overhaul and also take into account the originally removed content pack.
Yes please. I've wanted to play the modded full version of KOTOR2
I just received my switch 2 grips. OMG! These grips locked on on easily and are soooo much better! Whether connected to the system or used in Wii nunchuck mode. Perfect!
Happy for you.
I've never had any issue's playing with Joycons in any setup, be it on Switch or now on Switch2 myself though.
Thanks! Yeah, I have fairly big hands and definitely needed more to grip.
Unfortunately, they just barely won't fit in the hardcase I bought with the console. Always something. At least they're easily removable.
They invested in PS Portal and did handhelds and main consoles before.
I hightly doubt that they're taking a hit on the PS Portal. It's just a dumb client, so that saves on some of the most costly parts.

A PS6 hybrid wouldnt be much more powerful than ps5 due to being portable technology, miniturised with low power draw and all the added costs of a screen, battery, speakers, dock etc. Would Sony or their fanbase be okay with that?
Also it would be a sort of signal that "Nintendo was right"
Would there be a loss of face for this company who is used to being the market leader?
You mean like the loss of face when they copied the N64's analogue sticks for the DualShock after the original PS had launched? Or when they copied MS with a HDD and decent online? Or the Wii with the Move controllers?
It'd be a different thing if they copied the Joycons, designing a hybrid console with detachable controllers. Releasing a hybrid console in this day and age is just good business.
Beat the boss in Flare Pool last night. Very fun stuff. Looks like I got all of the Sol Valley area map filled in now. You really need to work that camera while exploring on the bike looking for those green crystals. I always seem to see a bunch in sections I figured that I had gotten them all previously.

I have smaller hands. I still needed silicon sleeves for tv play to bulk out the thickness of joycons 1.
Joycons 2, I find them a bit angular and the railings can be sharp without the rails. Silicon sleeves still help bulk out the thickness.
But I find I dont need them for portable play.

More Mega Man and Devil May Cry? Yes please!
Damn!
