Balloon fight rocks. As does Ikaruga. How come you 'gave up' on it?
I've been playing Super Mario Bros 2 on the Switch. I managed to beat it just now thanks to the new rewind mechanic, which feels a lot like cheating. I find it odd that the game has no credits, just a list of the 'cast' in which every character scrolls by with its name underneath. Kind of amuzing that they mixed up birdo and ostro's names, as the former would go on to become a fully formed character in Mario games. Also, the game has some moments where you'll lose a few lives on your first go as you have to anticipate dangers that are coming at you at such speed that not knowing the exact path is fatal. It's not a hard game per se, but it doesn't like doling out extra lives. I've won maybe 5 in the end of level slots game and found 2 or 3 in the wild in levels, and that's it.
Splatoon, Salmon Run.
Ugh, the people who get you killed by tentamissiles tracking them. You can't see or predict the missles landing and these people either run up behind you, or stand in the place you just jumped too. And in mid-air there is no turning back.
Happy mini e3 day! Nintendo indie showcase is happening right now!! Woowowowow the Touryst looks incredible!!!!!
SUPER MARIO MAKER LEVELS:
Well I'd say that's a loss for other system owners, but other than Sunset Overdrive did they ever develop a game for anything but a Sony platform?
Most of them for iOS/Android or Windows.
21 of all the games they have made were on a Playstation console and 19 of those 21 games were exclusive to Playstation.
SUPER MARIO MAKER LEVELS:
I started Gris, which is a 2d platformer with a striking visual style. So far It really feels like you're partaking in a piece of art.
I've only played for about half an hour. So far there's been little in the way of challenge. You traverse the world in which light puzzle elements are based on slight manipulations in order to reach specific area's. Progress will be halted by requiring you to find a number of glowing orbs needed to construct a bridge of light that will allow you to move on. It's wonderfully animated. You also gather power ups, by lack of better word. The first allows you to become heavy and smash through objects from above. Doing so will result in the slender protagonist's robe shifting shape into a large cube, slowing you down. The way the cube moves about when you change direction or jump is very well done. Colour is also used sparsely, leaning heavily on one colour to create striking vista's that look to be hand painted.
Very unique atmosphere, beautifull to look at. Hopefully the game has enough gameplay on its bones so that it doesn't outstay it's welcome. Currently 40% off on Switch.
I'm also playing Little Nightmares, which is about the artistic opposite of Gris
It's slow, menacing and oppressive. It's also a puzzle platformer where you travers the Maw, which, as far as I can tell, is a huge ship in which orphans are captured and eaten. Instead of traversing huge airy landscapes and restoring colour to the world, here's you're imprisioned in small detailed diaramas of depression as you sneak about, looking for a way out while staying out of the hands of the gastly residents. It sets a great mood, but because of that I can't play it for longer than 20 minutes at a time. It's just so bleek, impressively so.
I’m not sure how it’ll work but Keanu Reeves and Carrie Anne Moss are set to star in Matrix 4.
Cool 👍
Raven, you change your avatar so much. I have to double check your name every time.
I'm sticking with Pacman now.
Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver was the original Uncharted I summon Edgecrusher
As much as I like Uncharted, I would take a new Legacy of Kain every day all day. Assuming it was going to have full effort put into it, zero censorship, full on adult oriented Kain goodness brought to a modern era. It would be amazing if they could take the RPG elements from the first game & combine that with the semi open world adventure aspects. I see it being kind of a mix between The Witcher & Resident Evil 2make.
And for the love of God, NO GEARS OF WAR setpieces! That's where the Uncharted games (and the newer Tomb Raider games) go astray.
Too much news from that indie world event. I'm burnt out.
Will update other stuff tomorrow.
