I don't get how some of these open world switch games look worse than XCX on Wii U.
Even Xenoblade 2 to some extent.
Man seeing that Panzer Dragoon Saturn footage. How did we ever play games back then? It's like a dinosaur.
If they put Dragon Force and a couple fighting games on it, they'd definitely get my money.
The thrill of playing games in a 3D world at that time more than made up for the fact that the visuals were barebones though. Some of those games, the blocky crappy visuals were part of the charm. We still had to usse our imagination to imagine what something should really look like, or where they could go in the future. And you knew every big release was going to be another huge step up.

Turok was bad enough but that PDragoon footage is something else. It's in the same category as 8bit games for me. Cannot play them.
That's a pretty good explanation of it. I remember being pretty impressed the first time I picked up Panzer Dragoon at a game store. The feeling of 3D flight in a game, at least on consoles, was a pretty new experience for me. on top of that, doing it on something other than a spaceship was very unique. The somewhat choppiness almost seemed to enhance the feeling of flying on the back of a dragon.
Anyway, it would be pretty tough to go back and play it now, but I'm definitely looking forward to the remake.
Definitely share your modding experience. I'm really curious as to the emulation quality for it. I've got my raspberry pi set up for PlayStation games, but the quality isn't 100%. I'm curious if this would be any better.
