I knew it was a remake when they showed the trailer. We already had a remaster on the PS3 that basically looked like an HD Shadow of the Colossus. It looked similar to the PS2 version but was just in HD with stable framerate.
The PS4 version looks so much better it doesn't look like a PS2 game in HD.
SUPER MARIO MAKER LEVELS:
splatoon 2 is 1080p. huzzah
So that Metroid returns game has been in development for 2years. Nintendo knew we wanted one, knew they were making one, yet stayed silent. wth? Seriously sometimes they just flummox me. Sometimes they have good content yet present it horrendously.
With the reveal of Mario+Rabbids: Kingdom Battle the ending of this video has become funny in hindsight.
They also made a video if Nintendo owned Sonic
The top link is if SEGA owned Mario but it ends with Mario being owned by Ubisoft.
SUPER MARIO MAKER LEVELS:
Hmmm, ARMS is already for sale here. To buy or not to buy?
Vader, dit you read that huge interview with Aunuma about BotW? They realy go into detail, like why there chose to not include large dungeons. It makes for a very, very interesting read. One of the most insightfull articles I've ever read. Aunuma said that over 4 years, the whole team played through the game together about 10 times. The last time that meant 300 people playing the game together for a full week.
The Legacy of Kain IP's future with the indies? SE consider opening it up to them
Kind of shitty that it's Square's decision and not Crystal Dynamics. I wonder if CD have been wanting to make a new Kain for years and they just weren't allowed to. Well, give the franchise back to Denis Dyack...Silicon Knights created Kain in the first place. Maybe it's the one thing he could actually do something with.
That was one of those late gen PS2 games that really should have been a PS3 game in the first place. So the PS4 version is basically what it SHOULD have been but the poor ol' PS2 couldn't do it.
Xbox One X isn't shit without exclusive IP.
It feels like since the middle of the 360 era, Microsoft has really dropped off in exclusive system sellers. On the Original Xbox, you had Halo which was amazing at the time...these days it just feels burned out. You had Fable which was great stuff...Mechassault series, Crimson Skies, Forza was new....all those big SEGA games plus XBOX basically had console exclusives of most PC stuff like Elder Scrolls Morrowind, Knights of the Old Republic etc.
That continued on 360 for a few years....Mass Effect was exclusive for a long time. Bioshock was...on and on. But since around 2009 once Sony started to get their heads out of their asses, Microsoft has just lost ground. Almost zero major 3rd-party exclusives and surprisingly even their 1st-party stuff has dropped off bigtime. Halo and Gears feel really long in the tooth...Fable has been dead for years. Forza is Forza. Rare hasn't done much of anything. Scalebound got canned. Is it so hard to maintain a decent stable of killer must have exclusives year after year?
That Beyond Good & Evil 2 trailer was...odd.
It struck me as say maybe the suits at Ubisoft would only let them bring it back if they tried to make it more XTREME and appeal to the mainstream more, with the whole gangsta vibe and all the swearing. I like my swearing but it seemed WAY over the top like they were trying too hard. Is this going to be like the Sonic game where they gave him guns and shit?
The original game had a very almost Kingdom Hearts whimsical vibe to it. This one pretty much doesn't. And would it kill them to show some actual gameplay after 13 years?
Looks like something from deviantart.
It's at day "zero" of development. Apparently two weeks ago there were no graphics - everything is placeholder. So I guess it wont be out until end of 2019 at the earliest.

Those would do great on a wedding cake.
I just realised all poses are co-ordinated so you put them side by side with Peach in the middle, she can't choose between them - and Mario and Bowser are both offering her their hands. Pretty cool detail.
The game does not exist, it's at 0% development and Ancel thinks it might get made.

;">It combines elements of online worlds, early-access releases, role-playing games, and procedural generation. It’s also, admittedly, still pretty rough around the edges. Many of the game’s key elements — from graphics to combat to narrative — are still being implemented.
;">“There’s still a lot of work to do,” Ancel says, “but we now really believe that we’re going to make this game.”
;">...
;">Three years ago they started working on the technology that would power the experience — it started out as a kind of solar system simulation tool — and only recently have they started actually building the game. “When you don’t have this technology, you can’t really start the game,” Ancel explains. “It’s too difficult. But now we can say for sure that we will make this game, we’ll finish it. Because we have the technology for it.” He describes the game’s current status as “day zero of development.”
;">...
;">It all sounds incredibly ambitious, especially when you consider that Ancel also wants to treat Beyond Good & Evil 2 as something of an early access title;">, with a community of players offering feedback and testing early prototypes. The version of the game I saw, meanwhile, was still in a very early state. The graphics were mostly placeholder (Ancel says that “two weeks ago there were no graphics”;">) while aspects like combat and any kind of narrative aspect had yet to be implemented.
Ohh must read. I only read the parts about evil miyamoto
