I think I'd be interested in the new $300 Xbox.
One of the site's forefathers.
I don't see why anyone would buy an Xbox One or the slim model at this point knowing that they're coming out with a basically new console next year. I kind of expect XBONE sales to drop off bigtime now. Probably why Sony DID NOT show the new PS4?
I have mixed feelings on that Resident Evil 7 trailer.
It looks cool, in terms of it being an Outlast/P.T. style horror game. But, it doesn't look like a RESIDENT EVIL game at all. Is it so hard to just make a true RE game? Maybe it is...maybe that's why they haven't showed anything of the RE2 remake....
I'd be tempted if the price was right. Current gen systemw ith back compat at €200-250, sure. €299? No thanks.
This forum is busted for me, it doesn't show up the way it usually does.
Just got done watching the Sony event...that was damn good as well.
One thing I'll say about this year's E3 is that I liked most of the games shown from both MS and Sony. Seems like I'm interested in almost everything on the way, whereas in past years they spent so much time trying to appeal to the casual crowd with lame ass shit I wanted to sleep through E3.
This isn't a complaint, but damn...so many games are following the Tomb Raider/Uncharted mold now. Almost every new game shown off reminds me of them, even God of War. Its good to see though...at least the days of a million FPS trying to be Call of Duty seem to be over.
Basically not even Scorpio will be able to push true 4K, but VR should be a cinch. Also very interesting is the disparity between CPU and GPU which is assumed to be even larger than in the current gen hardware. For me this is very much a letdown, as it basically says that MS and Sony still see gamers as idiots who want to keep shooting things, but in slihgtly higher fidelity. Sure, MS was overtaken by Sony based on the higher performance of their GPU, but this has the potential to become ridiculous. We'll be left moaning about seeing no new gaming concepts for another 4 years at least, unless offloading computing tasks from the CPU to the GPU becomes the norm. Which it wont.
The GTX 1080 can barely do 4K. Look how long it took games to run at 1080p? Most new games STILL don't run at 1080p. 4K is a pipe dream for the next 5 years on any graphics heavy games.
Yes, but we also bitched about 1080p for years on end. 4K is the new 1080p, so bitch about it we shall, pipe dream or not.
Also, I think the main point is that CPU's aren't getting enough attention in hardware design anymore;
Maybe, but they're not as important as they used to be. Even on the PC.
Depends on what you expect. I'd much rather have games with a lot of NPC's with convincing, smart AI than even more pixels or whatnot. Stuff like the trailer with the battle in Kameo before X360 released, or not having to have dial back the amount of NPC's in the next installment of AssCreed because the Paris one was too taxing on the CPU.
You have to open it in a new tab.
SUPER MARIO MAKER LEVELS:
What do you mean? Like a google chrome tab or like this forums own specific tab? Because the former did nothing, and I don't know if the latter is a thing ;p
I'd much rather take the cinematic game fad than the FPS fad. At least the former is aware of what it is and uses those strengths to its advantage. The "FPS Golden Age" ironically had a lot of shitty FPSs.
My GTX970 can do The Witcher III in 4K at 30fps with no slowdown.
I'm still rocking my i5 2500k and its not even so much as hiccuping. CPUs don't matter much anymore because game design as a whole hasn't evolved much otuside of graphics. Hell even during Sony's E3 conference the only game that may present problems for a 2012 era PC outside of graphics was Days Gone and its endless supply of zombies.

"Sony to get into the crowded 'quality of life' market with dedicated sex toy line"
My point exactly.
Zelda thing starts in 10 minutes, which I wont be able to watch.
