What have you fellas been playing? I'm guessing Kamiya games rule the weekend over at the VGPress. I've been playing The Wonderful 101. I knew I would love it, but boy do I love it!
I've been playing:
Been playing
Up yours Platinum!
Of course, a large part of the reason for this is that my copy of Bayonetta 2 didn't come in on Friday...
I played a little bit more of Destiny:
Got pretty deep into Castlevania Aria of Sorrow, which is damn good and has a ton of that Symphony of the Night magic:
Finished Alan Wake's American Nightmare, which was a great spin off:
Slowly treking forward in The Evil Within:
Finished Halo Reach again:
Continued plotting my next move in Skyrim:
And am about to start The Walking dead 2:
And Bayonetta:
Sorry....family and friends.
Damn Edge concentrate on something.
I know its ridiculous. Hey, at least its a slow year...
I find the Mii bubble screen entirely useless so never even look at it. I guess that's why I can't understand, there's no reason to even use that thing.
You realise that rubbing a game box on your crotch repeatedly doesn't = "playing" it.
This is my weekend.
Flipping schools are virus incubators. Damned kids put there grubby fingers everywhere, poke your eyes, grab your lips, rub virus all over grapes.
Your nephews are the Three Stooges?
I've been playing Fantasy Life. It is one of those games where I say I'm going to just play for a little bit then next thing I know it is midnight.
I played 15 hours since 9:30 PM on Friday. I'm trying to keep the game going by avoiding the main story I just completed Chapter Two because I've been doing side quests and trying out different Lives. I started as a Hunter than played as all but Magician, Tailor, and Alchemist.
SUPER MARIO MAKER LEVELS:
They like to rough house alot. Like evil little wrestlers.
I've been playing Civilization: Beyond Earth. It's quite similar and at the same time surprisingly different to Civ V.
^While I have never played a Civ game and while it's not my type of game at all, the Eurogamer review really made it look like an interesting game. I'd love to read some impressions.
WARNING: DO NOT READ THIS IF YOU ARE EASILY DISTURBED BY PSYCHOLOGICAL DYSFUNCTION or EXTREMELY INAPPROPRIATE HUMAN BEHAVIOR. IT'S NOT MEANT TO BE FUNNY.
While I probably shouldn't even post this here, I find myself still disturbed by what I saw, don't know how to process it reasonably, mentally and think I would like to have an intelligent discussion about it somewhere, if only to have an outlet to purge it from my consciousness. Dunno. Here goes. I was on the train going into the city this morning when a family of three boarded at another station. They sat in the seats in front of me with the boys sitting with their backs to me and the mother sitting facing me . The mother could see my face from where she was and I could see the backs of the boys heads through the hole between the headrests. I was minding my own business, playing Fantasy Life when something caught my eye. Unconciously, I knew what it was before even looking because it bothered me before I was even aware of what I was seeing. One of the boys had a DSi. On the DSi was a photo of the mother. Topless. It was the function of the DSi where you could take pictures and draw on them, etc. When it dawned on me what exactly I was looking at, my face immediately twisted into a mix of a bewildered scowl with a little bit of shock and revulsion for good measure. The mother saw that I saw and quickly moved the whole family to another part of the train. I had my headphones on, so I couldn't hear what was being said and I was trying my best to not look at any of them in the eye, but the damage was most certainly done. I cannot even begin to imagine a culture or social setting where this would even begin to be appropriate. I cannot even imagine how this family functions normally in society. For a brief moment I thought to myself: "Shit. What would Iwata think if he saw a Nintendo handheld being used for something like this?" That was almost definetly a defense mechanism on my part to try and make light of something profoundly disturbing, but I didn't even amuse myself minutely with that one.
WHAT IN THE EVER-LIVING-FUCK? SERIOUSLY. WHAT-THE-FUCKIN'-FUCK?
Anyone have any logic, reason, attempt of explanation, anything to make sense of that? Don't say I didn't warn you if you DID read that. Sorry if you read it and it was worse than you thought it would be. Still trying to make sense of it. Still failing.
I can't make sense of that. The optimist in me wants to think of it as the mother wanting the boys to embrace the human body and not be ashamed of it. The pessimist/realist is afraid something more sinister is at hand. I'm not sure what you could have done other than notify the train personnel and attempted to contact the authorities. But by the time anyone would've reached them, they could have deleted all of the images. That is IF the authorities acted on what you told them.
The look on the mother's face in the photo suggested it was NOT an embracing the human body thing. One of the boys, before they sat down, spotted the 3DS in my hands and the look and smirk he gave me was very, very off... Very disturbing. I knew something was "wrong" with them before they even sat down.
Well, my first thought was like what Travo mentioned at first, but if that pic was sexualized, then that's certainly not what I'd call normal family behavior.
If you knew where they lived you could certainly contact Social Services. Sadly, there doesn't seem much you can do. Maybe call a police officer and discuss what options you may have and what you should do if you ever run across them again.
There's nothing I can do now. To be honest, I'm not even sure what stop they got on. I was playing the game, not paying attention to anything around me, until I noticed someone looking directly at me. (The kid.) I guess I was so honestly shocked at the time, it didn't even dawn on me to contact the authorities. I did not see them after they moved. I don't think they were on the train when we reached the city. Now that I think about it, I'm kinda pissed at myself for NOT acting on it... I literally was shocked, dumbfounded and in a state of disbelief of what I saw. I'm not making excuses, only stating the truth, but I AM now disappointed in myself.
You may want to edit your first reply Travo. Don't want someone seeing this that could be offended. I DO appreciate both of your candor though...
What I've been playing:
