Of course his offense was not as good but lets not act like Manning doesnt have the ability to work magic with whatever he has. He turned Jacob Tamme into an all pro tight end. All we have to go with is what is, Manning had the better offenses, gets the better stats. Brady had the better overall teams earlier on got the rings. History favors the rings much more. Stop acting like Brady is the underdog or something, Brady is considered by more to be the better QB just cause of rings, I am the minority.
Agreed what the Pats did to Brady this past year was messed up. But they also couldnt forsee the Hernandez and Gronk injuries. With all that you still made the AFC Championship game, the pats will be fine. I would kill for Bob Kraft.
Awesome post on every level.
Ok we are in agreement than. Third parties did not give an honest effort.
And no most 3rd parties do not understand the market at all. Heck even Nintendo went from having to huge successes (DS and Wii) to one healhty system and one complete dud, in a single generation! So they don't know the market either.
So you want to know why they don't put any effort? Inertia, until the other two completely and uttery fuck up, there is no reason for the others to go to Nintendo. Or Nintendo must do something so extraordinary that they will change sides. Why they left in the first place, see SNES and NES generation!
The Gamecube was a traditional console. It sold like shit. It got the worst 3rd party support of all 3 consoles. The Wii was unique and different and it was therefore the best selling Nintendo console ever! I ask you, what have Nintendo to gain for going traditional again?
So basically Nintendo has two choices. Go the Nintendo route and do not have any 3rd party games because they are too different. Or try the traditional route again, have crappier sales and they won't get any 3rd party games, because they sell too little.
But what about different kind of 3rd party support. Mario Galaxy sold 10 million copies, Galaxy 2 6 million, so where are all the 3rd party 3d platforming games? NSMBwii sold like 20+ million copies, so where are all the 3rd party 2d platforming games. Besides Sonic and Rayman there was nothing. How about a Bushido Blade with wiimotion + or the lightsaber game we never ever got? What about Elebit/Eledees, why has no 3rd party developer made a telekinetic game.
Yes it takes risk to do that, but like the Ferenghi saying goes: "The greater the risk, the greater the profit!"
Okay, I'm only one green star away from entering the final boss level in SM3DWorld. The amusment part world is the final level, right?
elWell, technically no, but it is the final bowser le
Those games sales are not even in the same universe as the Mario, Pokemon and Wii whatever franchise, besides Gran Turismo. And even that one has fallen of the map!
Too little too late for that I am affraid. They have to ride it out! It was a bad idea though!
WTF is your problem with the control scheme? The controller is just a traditional dual analog controller with a screen on it! There is nothing too hard for 3rd parties to handle. The other parts are legit though!
Will have to ride it out and try again in 2018!
This month long + debate over the fate of Nintendo is temporarily pre-empted by...

...wheeeeeee!
I agree with the inertia part but that is just answer why its happening now. Why did it start happening is my question?
Agreed on Gamecube but lack of DVD did have something to do with that, I wont say it had a huge impact but it did hurt the GC in terms of hardware sales at least. Nintendo can regain the respect of many of the gaming population that they have lost over the years if they go more tradition, that still probably wont lead to higher sales though.
Agreed on the two choices Nintendo has and on the kinds of third party suppor these systems should get. I agree we need interesting unique third party support. That said it still doesn't sell well cause of whatever reason. Mario is an exception to the rule, not the rule at all. No third party 3D platformer will ever get close to reaching sales of that magnitude but they could become a million seller but no one today wants just a million seller, they want the 5-8 million selling blockbuster. I think it was on one of the game under podcasts where they talked about the death of the mid level budget games, today all we get is the big blockbusters and indies, the mid range game is almost extinct and that is what those 3rd party games on Nintendo would have to be.
I'm sorry leo. I give you the floor, what do you want to talk about. GO!

"It's funny—two decades ago, in order to boost sales in North America, Square changed the titles of Saga and Mana games to Final Fantasy Legend and Final Fantasy Adventure. Today, they're changing games away from Final Fantasy. Kinda says a lot."
