LOL. Reggie will reveal Dankey Kang at the next VGA.
I love it. Very Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. For 2 seconds I actually fantasized about being put in charge of Nintendo. In those two seconds I bought out Team Ninja (Enslaved, DmC) Team Meat and gave a studio to SUDA-51 and manacled him to Shiggy,
Brilliant.
IGNs GOTY is TLOU
Are they only announcing it now?
There are a lot of contradictions with that Digital Foundry Wii U article that people on GAF are finding. Apparentely the whole 55nm thing - seems off we know it's 40nm from Chipworks teardown. Some things did sound like they were intentionally painting a very bleak picture. Like the whole shader model 5 being not compatible with Shadel model 4 (making it seem outdated) it is compatible, or how competing consoles' GPUs are leagues ahead. Aside from lacking the raw power Wii U's GPU is about as feature rich as those. I would imagine being "leagues" ahead would involve a host of on-chip GPU features that just aren't possible on Latte, in-hardware.
Also apparently the Green Hills debugger is considered super great. So they must have been using incomplete SDKs which is normal for any pre-launch hardware.
Well, I'm done with Lego Marvel, I give it a 7.0
The open world is a bust, it's rarely funny, very finnicky and somewhat laborious to play. Most of the campaign missions are boring Bond villain lair repeats. There is some fun to be had but nothing you should pay for, rental at best.
And they decided that either prior to the system launching - with no intention of ever releasing a game for it in the first place - or deciding it was dead after 3 months of sales. How short sighted is that in a decades old industry who knows generations come in 5 year life cycles? Sales excuses are BS when only a couple of companies even gave it a fair roll of the dice. Support was not there even before poor results started coming in. Games take years to make, not months so if there were any titles planned they should have appeared in the first year or so of the systems life and we would know about them. And then some companies like EA self sabotaged U game sales with stuff like the Mass Effect trilogy or missing modes or DLC. Not to mention using old 360 engines and late ports of already released games.
And did no one in these board meetings note the possibility of increased sales as the userbase grew over time? It's complete bullshit when the entire industry completely bails on one of the big three, especially when their previous console was a record breaker. And remember, a Wii U version of a multiplatform game costs $1 million. Thats chump change to these companies.
I'll be right back...gotta take a massive shit.
Bill Gates.
PS3 had launch period problems, and that apparently did not deter 3rd parties.
That's indeed the case but PS3 was a Sony platform where 3rd parties thrived during the PS2 era, and PS3 did not have a new console generation right around the corner so that's probably what publishers had to cope with whether they liked it or not for years to come. - GAF
PS3 was a total disaster for the 1st 2 years. It really wasn't until around the time Sony pulled their heads out of their asses and released the PS3slim and came out with a whole new attitude, marketing plan and logo more in line with PS1 and PS2 that the PS3 finally came into its own. For most of the generation I think the Xbox 360 was by far the better console....UNTIL the last few years when MS started moving in a more casual/entertainment direction at the same time Sony was doing their own said direction change. That's when the PS3 arguably became the better console.
But yeah, those 1st 2 years were BAD. The only thing that saved it was Sony's reputation and their generations of complete dominance.
So, last night before bed, I did my usual thing of brushing my teeth and flossing. However, last night was a bit unusual in the fact that when I flossed, a small piece of tooth broke off! It doesn't hurt at all, but my tooth now feels rough when I rub my tongue against it, and I have to go to the dentist. The moral of this story: Do NOT floss, kids! It ruins your teeth!
If it didn't hurt are you sure it's not tarter build up instead of tooth? That happened to me once.
I'm not sure if Revengeance just got suddenly hard (on hard), or if it's because I'm partially blind after staring at text for 6 or 8 hours today (who knows how long it was exactly). Given that I can't currently tell the difference between 40FPS, 60FPS and 768P and 1080P I'm gonna go with who the fuck knows. This is what it's like to be a games journalist? Oh well, now I can parry well at least.
Hmm, I never thought of that. I don't see anything wrong with the tooth at all. I'll get a cheap dental mirror later today, and take a better look. I hope that all it was.
Leo!???
Maybe it was your baby tooth, stuck there for decades.
Well, I got my dental mirror, and I don't see any damage to my teeth at all. There is some tarter build-up, so I'm going to get a checkup and cleaning soon. Weird shit. Thanks for putting my mind at ease, Robio. I was afraid to eat anything this morning, as I didn't want it to break more.
You know, I'm getting a little frustrated with the Last of Us. Do you realize that more after 6 months it's barely dropped in price? God of War Ascension is like $20 now. Tomb Raider is under $30. Can this game please get to under $40 please?
