Well, I have to work tomorrow evening.  At least I'll have Zelda.

I'm going to share with you guys a conversation I had with some friends of mine about the console wars. Basically they started asking who is getting a One and most said yes, then a few said no like me who chose PS4. The conversation went something like this:

Guy 1 :  why get a ps4 they don't have any thing I want to play, no one plays online on it

Guy 2:  yeah Halo is better than any shooter on the ps.

Guy3: Sony has better single player games though.

Me: yup, the Sony exclusives are better that is why I got it.

Guy 1: yes Sony single player games are better but I don't play single player shit, I only play online, I don't care about the campaigns

Guy2: yeah I only play when others are online, to me I use the Xbox as a way to hang out with you guys when I am at home.

Guy 1: no one is online on ps, it's not as good as live

Guy 3:  PSN is just as good, it has everything live has

Me: yeah but now you have to pay for it

Guy 2: what? Lol, I'm not paying for that I will stick with live

Me: but you get a ton of free games with it (everyone ignores me)

Guy2: oh and kinect is awesome, you can do some crazy voice command shit.

Guy1: yeah that shit is cool

Guy2: oh and the exercise thing on kinect is crazy, it reads your heartrate and shit.

Me: yeah and it has all the best programs like insanity and it's free for a year.

Guy2: hell yeah, yeah I need an Xbox one.

Me: any of you hear about titanfall.

Guys: no

Me: you will.

Guy 4: oh it also has that NFL stuff for fantasy football.

Me: is that necessary don't we have a ton of ways to keep track of fantasy football.

Guy4: yeah but it's cool.

Guy1: so you are really not going to get one

Me: yeah I'll wait, ps has the games I want.

Anyone watched the Xbox launch special on Spike, MS copied Sony. They just threw a ton of celebrities at the event, Macklemore was performing. Oh and MGSV exclusive content for One too, even Kojima was bought.

But they did have a sizzle reel that showed a ton of their games and WOW they have an impressive lineup.

So anyone getting a One tonight?

I saw the new consoles at the store yesterday for the first time. They both gave me a different impression.

The Xbox One I could not believe just how uninspired and bland it looks in person. Its big and bulky like Xbox consoles always are, but it doesn't have the personality that the 180 & 360 have. It honestly looks soulless. It looks like something more in line with what you would expect from a company like Microsoft.

The PS4 is pretty fucking large also...larger than I expected. Its got that similar length to it that the redesigned PS3 has, just jagged shaped instead of roundish. Speaking of the PS4 jagged design, it kind of strikes me as both cool looking AND a bit ridiculous at the same time...like one of those things where it feels like they just went out of their way TRYING to make it look all futuristic & shit. I kind of started laughing to myself looking at it for a minute while I was in Target. Still, I prefer the PS4 look over Xbox One. I prefer the Wii U design over Xbox One as well.

Controller wise, Microsoft is still going to have the best controller despite the PS4 pad being a big improvement. Sony's pad's still don't seem as well designed to me as MS's.

So, this generations hardware designs go like this for me:

Console Design: PS4---Wii U---Xbox One

Controller Design: Xbox One---Wii U---PS4

However the Wii U Gamepad is a special case in that for games that use it to their advantage it can be the best out of the 3. But if its barely used, I'd much prefer the Xbox One pad, or the PS4 pad.

You could just stick a USB in/out chord inbetween.  You're bound to find those somewhere, and they come in lengths up to 3 (or 5?) meter.
