I totally agree it's not functional to hold a controller and the bigass gamepad.
Looks pretty nice. I'm overwhelmed at the amount of stuff going on in the video. Cloned characters, cat suit, it seems that instead of dodging and jumping you get to shoot and whack shit up constantly.
It would work if you sit at a table with the pad on a stand but I mostly use it on the sofa.

I started a new playthrough today. I opened the special edition with the expansion missions (I have high hopes). All the previous times I tried to make a beast of a character amassing strength and endurance. This time I'm going for a different approach. I will try to make a pyromancer (who is also an adept enough melee fighter). So far in one day I beat Taurus, Gargoyles, Capra, and Gaping demon and I'm about to revisit the asylum to get the ring before I take a deep breath and venture into Blighttown. So far I only lost once. But I'm playing offline to avoid invading cunts and admittedly I haven't tried any of the difficult bits yet. This is going to be my last attempt at this.

The DLC was the thing that made me replay the game. I've heard nothing but praise about it. Funny enough, I'm also doing a pyro run this time, DEX based.
I also breezed through the very same areas you mentioned. I forgot about revisiting the Asylum but that does make sense so I have to retread back now since I reached the first bonfire in Blighttown already.
Yeah that ring makes walking in the swamp slightly less of a pain. Also DEX based pyro. I farmed souls in the forest and made me fire +15
Using Drake sword still for the time being and no real armour. What's a good weapon for our build? Preferably one which doesn't require huge amounts of upgrading. Maybe I should just wait till I get that spear which deals thunder damage in Sen's fortress

DEX with a bit of STR the uchigatana works wonders. Kill the Burg merchant for it. Pure DEX the iaito (get it after a tricky jump going down Blighttown) is much better.
Wait, so now you can play Wii games on the u pad screen that means the entire Wii virtual console just became playable on the u pad screen. Without having to pad to upgrade each game.
Drake is a good crutch, but it doesn't really scale with anything. In the end I think it does more harm than good to cling to it for too long. Don't worry about armor, since I figure you want to be as mobile as possible, so you need to keep your gear weight low. I'm using the thief set right now, and will swap it for the shadow set here in Blighttown. uchi/iaito ninja is the way to go.

Thanks bro, I have the Uchi because I hate that creep and I always kill him as soon as I buy the things I need from him. I will change to it now. I think I am about 16 STR and 25 DEX for the time being. I haven't bought any levels since I rescued Laurentius since I've put all the souls into leveling up my flame. Don't think I changed my armour from the rags the pyromancer came with (save for taking off his cape so I can look at my character's sexy receding silver hair).
