Ben afflect is the new Batman?!!!!
Here's what a console transition looks like, by the numbers
So basically wii exploded and now Nintendo are back to normal levels? Sony transitions have always been good?
He is! In the new Superman Batman movie and then probably Justice League too.
I'm sure you remember this, but they tested TP and WW and other Zeldas, probaby SS too with Wii U to see in HD and with effects what they looked like. WW was the one which looked the best and felt more vivid and new. It also seemed to be the easiest Zelda for newcomers so that is why they chose it. The gba to GC connectivity probably played some part in it too concerning how it perfectly fits with the gamepad.
Also, it would be too much work to make TP look good in HD, where WW could survive in HD with a few new ligthing effects.
TP in HD looks like this:
WW looks like this:
This is also relevant to Edgecrushers assertion that many Xbox era games looked better even not cel-shaded, look at them now in HD:

Sony exec Shuhei Yoshida falls asleep during Gamescom PlayStation panel
David Cage was sharing a monologue on storytelling.
Yoshida's eyes began to droop when Heavy Rain and Beyond creator David Cage began to discuss his views on storytelling in video games.
Naturally, Yoshida has already made light of the humourous incident himself via his Twitter account.
In a message posted afterwards, Yoshida blamed the incident on the soothing tones of Cage's voice.
@yosp Did David Cage put you to sleep?

Stuttering Xbox One Dead Rising 3 performance will improve, Capcom insists
Capcom hopes to address the apparent technical struggles suffered by its Dead Rising 3 Xbox One gameplay demo at Gamescom.
Videogamer reports that the playable short, currently on display at the Cologne games expo, struggles to maintain 30 frames per second with significant dips suffered when the number of zombies on screen is ramped up.
Admitting that the game’s development team "had many questions over the [game's] performance”, senior producer Jason Leigh told the site that things should improve prior to the game’s November release.
"This demo is actually several weeks old and we've made a lot of ground,” he stated. “We've got a little bit more ways to go before we release the game.
"We're targeting 30 frames a second. Because we're based in Vancouver, and Seattle is where Microsoft is based, we're only three hours up the road so we constantly have tech people driving back and forth and they're helping us to make this a very smooth running game at launch."

It's probably because it started as a 360 game and they had to use that idiosyncratic code and port it across to a new architecture. When this happened to Wii U games that were ported from 360 skus the response by the gaming community was "LULZ look at how weak U is". Most PS4 and X1 multiplats are ported directed from PC with similar x86 architecture so they don't have the same problem. Wii U is different even from PCs so porting from either will probably be somewhat problematic. Ground up games are another story.
The yoshida gaf thread is legendary!!!! I'm dying laughing here!! What an awesome guy, he retweeted the gaf thread and the gfs of him sleeping.
Why would you say such a thing without linking?
Man that Final Fantasy 10 trailer brought back some great memories. Oh early days of the PS2/Cube/Xbox era were magical. I think I will grab the Limited Edition of this one. No release date yet...that blows my mind.
I also find it odd that they put Final Fantasy 7 on Steam, but they don't bother with this or any other FF game on the PC.
Gamecube never reached N64 levels...Wii U started out higher than N64 and Gamecube? PS3 never reached PS2 levels, but almost hit PS1 levels?
Good shit.
Then he laughs cause it's so ridiculous.
Look closely
It could have been worse guys. We could have gotten that Transformers douche instead.
Matt Damon confirmed as Superman.
He'll be Robin.
So we're getting an overall impression on PS4 and Xbox One capability. Most games aiming for 30 fps, some struggling. If 60 fps they are usually 720p like a lot of first party U games. The games also have worse textures than PC even with the 8gb of RAM (3-3.5 GB reserved for OS). The games are already notably worse looking than PC skus all around include effects, Watchdogs (digital foundry breakdown), BF4 (IGN breakdown) for instance. It appears the mobile cpus aren't that powerful as they are working towards getting to a 30 fps target. Not aiming for 60. Ports from 360 code seems problematic (Dead Rising)
PS4 GPU, "like 40 per cent more powerful. DDR5 is basically 50 per cent more powerful than DDR3, but the memory write is bigger on Xbox One" according to Gaijin indie devs.
I would pay to see Damon as robiin just or the hilarity of it all. Though it should be the other way around, Affleck is clearly the sidekick.
