I'd like to replay Morrowind and Oblivion. And getting all the expansions for Skyrim is a bonus.  I also like that it is physical, so I don't have to spend two months of internet allocation (at least) to get it.  It will probably be $120 down here, if it comes here at all.

That is a sweet collection. But it would be so much better if they enhanced the graphics of Morrowind and the older games, and added in true widescreen support. Then it would be a must buy.

Speaking during his keynote at QuakeCon 2013 keynote (via Gamasutra), the lead Wolfenstein 3D, Doom and Quake programmer said that while he hasn't "done really rigorous benchmarking", he was surprised to find how similar the two new consoles are.


"I haven't done really rigorous benchmarking [but] they're very close and they're both very good," he said.


"It's almost amazing how close they are in capabilities, how common they are."


Carmack went on to say that the initial backlash to Xbox One was "a bit on the side of a witch hunt", adding: "The future is obvious right there, and it will be good for us in general. A lot of these things are inevitable."


Carmack was also critical of Kinect, which he described as "sort of like a zero-button mouse with a lot of latency... Kinect still has some fundamental limitations with the latency and framerate... It's fundamentally a poor interaction."

I'm starting to believe that PS4 wont have any discernible graphics advantage over X1.

We won't see any graphical difference at all between X1 and PS4. These are the two most similar consoles we have ever had, much moreso than PS3 and 360 or any of the old generations. Its like you have two consoles of the EXACT same design for the most part, just with different brands on the shell and a different menu interface.

Even the controllers are much more similar than ever before.

Its going to be an interesting holiday season for me, as an observer. Now that I've decided to just stick with PC and Wii U for awhile, I'm just gonna sit back and dissect everything.
