Bioshock Infinite Sold 3.7 Million So Far
And next week the headline will be "Bioshock Infinite Fails to Reach Goal of 12 Million Copies Sold."
LOL,Yup
I'm seeing on gaf that people holding controllers wrong is a thing.
There are people that actually held the N64 controller like this
Now there is this whole discussion on gaf about holding a Dual Shock some hold it like this
Others say this is the real way to hold it
I cant tell what I do, I am not home so I cant try. I am pretty sure my palms touch the sides of the controller to hold it in place.
How can you not know?
all the big editors are in la this week getting e3 previews.
I never thought about it. My first thought is that anyone holding a Dual Shock with just fingers is a nut case but I dont exactly grip my PS contoller, it just rests in my hand. i think it has more to do with the kind of game I am playing, I think I change the way I hold it. Now that I think about it there is only one way to hold an Xbox controller, just grip the entire thing. The DS is different.
Yeah, if you're including your thumbs as part of what constitutes holding, then you obviously can't hold it the same way with every game.
No not just thumbs. If I am playing a game that just uses dpad and face buttons I can ignore the bottom part of the controller so I grip it differently. I also need more support on the back of the controller when mashing on face buttons.
Then you do know.
I think I know. I am doing all sorts of weird hand gestures in air here.
I've only played a few games this year so it's not like I'm saying it's the best of the best or anything. In terms of being easy to digest entertainment with a lot of humour and tons to do and see with a few bits of your own experimentation mixed in, yeah I love it. The attention to detail is great in an open world game like this, you are constantly finding little details other developers wouldn't bother with. I found a trolley that you can ride down slopes like a soapbox racer for instance and this is after 65 hours in the gameworld. Everytime I unlock a character or vehicle it makes you laugh like finding the van from the A-Team or the Miami Vice cop outfit, they have tons of others like Sherlock Holmes, Columbo, Starsky and Hutch. And then vampires, werewolves, Liberace, Jack Burton, aliens, robots from the future or just a bloke who walks about with a hat and his disgusting underwear. And they've done different idle animations for each and every one. A Spartan will suddenly break out his spear and start parading about. There is a Mime for instance and he's the one character who does something special on the character selection screen that made me laugh my ass off. The game is not perfect, it was made to be enjoyed by anyone from a young age so it probably should have a hard mode for us guys, but regarding the atmosphere, it's just brimming with humour and enthusiasm and once it gets you into collect everything mode, it's hard to stop playing.
I love that because it's not trying to be realistic in any sort of way you can have stuff like jetpacks, laser guns that blow up cars in one shot, riding T-Rex's, jumping straight from a helicopter to a car down below with one button press. Or stupid stuff like the little fairground rides which you just do to watch an animation. There's also a dress up play element, with all the characters and vehicles and customisation you can make a lot of funny things to photo like getting the right bike and dude to make Streethawk.
The game also takes it up a notch in the final couple of missions in the epic stakes, with a solid frame rate and better anti-aliasing it would actually look pretty gorgeous, there was one part that was egging towards Star Wars 1313 detail and lighting.
So after I completed Lego City I thought I would polish off Assasins Creed 3 but didn't have the chance. So I decided to beat Arkham City and then move onto the sequel to one of my all time faves and start Skyrim.
And then....... this happened.
Seriously pissed off, I got the red light before, if the 360 has not been powered on in a while it would happen then I would turn it off and when it came back on 2 minutes later it worked find. I tried it 20 times last night and all I got was the E68 error code and the red ring of death. This is already a replacement 360 for one that crapped out with the RROD, my bro had 3 units that had the RROD and he gave up on MS and gave all his stuff away to charity.
If they don't fix this for free I think my love affair with MS will be over, it doesn't matter what their Nextbox looks like or does, I will not buy it just like I wont buy another Samsung product after they screwed me on their shitty laptop build quality.
I really don't know what to do, I have a shelf of 360 games I want to keep and replay at some point and some games I have not had the chance to play yet but I will be damned if I'm expected to buy a new 360 just to play them.
The support page says that E68 is a hardware fault and advises to disconnect the hard drive.

My Dreamcast still works, my GC still works, my N64 worked till the adaptor crapped out a year ago - but the unit still works. If you have to buy the hardware twice you are being screwed. I just don't see how people are okay with buying multiples of the same console without there being some lasting disatisfaction that carries over onto next gen.

Amen.

I think I got my 360 in 2006 for about the same or lower. Godamn ridiculous.
Tried the Wii U RE Revelaitons demo
Fantastic port, runs butter smooth and looks great. Also really shows how good the 3ds visuals can be in close quarter games like this. In 2d mode the 3ds game looks perilously close to this. The demo doesn't give you enough items or weapons to try out the touch screen controls properly.
Offscreen works a treat, looks great, flaw free and quite crisp, speaker sound is great too.
The only problem is that there is no gyro aiming here, not even for the scanner - which feels somewhat like a backwards step. So you are caught between 3rd person twin stick controls - too shooterish - or classic rooted to the spot controls not really suitable for a game with environments this small. You eventually overcome it, but a 3ds XL In 2d mode with gyro controls might be a better option.
Still, great port, if you want to play it on the big screen pick this one up. I will wait on a price drop because I have already played it and sold my copy. If you haven't played it before, it's a great purchase for anyone wanting a cross between classic/re4 gameplay.
Edge, don't bother waiting on a PC version, I can't see it looking much better this is buttery smooth.
EDIT: Oh wait in infernal mode you get a shotgun and machine gun. Played again, great port - better than 3ds I think, might double dip when cheap. Makes me want to get RE6- oh wait I can't because of the RROD, thx MS.
With E3 fast approaching it’s about time we had some juicy rumours. These rumours stem from an IGN member by the name of 100 Year Old Gamer. The forum user claims to work at Nintendo, though these claims have yet to be verified. However, it should be noted that he or she has previously written things that have turned out to be true. Here’s some of the information 100 Year Old Gamer has provided. Take it with a grain of salt.
More LOL rumours
