I don't think Pachter's Wii U numbers are too far off. I've been thinking it would do better than the Gamecube, but not as well as the Wii, so those numbers work with my thoughts. I was thinking more in the 50 MM to 60 MM range, but that's not too far off. What confuses me though is why he thinks the PS4 and the Durango will sell that high. Where the hell is this new audience coming from? All those people who bought the Wii but never played games on it?
I also don't buy that this is the last console generation. Its likely the last generation with discs, but hardly the last generation. Where's the logic in that anyway? If PS4 and Durango see higher sales in the upcoming generation than in this one, why are they not going to do another one? I wouldn't be surprised to see maybe only 2 consoles as well, but this isn't going away.
And finally, why the fuck is he at SXSW? What the hell happened to SXSW anyway? Jesus man, back in the day when I went it was a showcase for indie music and movies, to get drunk, pick up indie-alt-punk chicks with loose morals, and that was it. Now it's fucking gone commerical. Tell Nintendo and Patch to go the fuck home. /old man rant.

Yeah I actually think Nintendo made a mistake just using the Wii name again....and especially using it with the stupid U at the end instead of a 2. Could it sound any more retarded? They confused people, especially with the way it LOOKS like a Wii 1. Hell my girlfriend thought it was just a controller for the old Wii until I got one. They should have called it the NES 2, or the fucking Revolution, or something.
I don't see it doing anywhere near as good as the Wii just because Nintendo are trying to go for the same crowd that the others are going for again, with less powerful hardware and not as robust of an online service, very sketchy support, and generally just not seeming like they know what the fuck to do with this thing marketing wise. But it should DEFINITELY do better than Gamecube, unless they fuck up really bad. Cube was IMO the most underrated system of all time, but what did it sell? 22 million? It was well below any other console they've made.

My PC is already beyond PS4...what are some of these people smoking? Its starting to sound like typical Sony hype like the cell, and the emotion engine, and "PS2 is powerful enough to launch missiles" and shit.
