Oi, those amazon deals are great too. I picked up DA2 and the 9.99 DA franchise deal is still up and running. 9.99 for DA Ultimate edition (DA, awakenings, all DLC) and DA 2 is a pretty sweet deal.
That's why I say its the best 1st-person Shooter of this entire generation. It takes what they started with Far Cry, and perfects it. Itrs probably the closest I've come to being as wowed by a FPS as I was Halo back in 2001. Not to sound snobbish, but I also played it on my PC maxed out, on my big screen TV. It also has the best mouse/keyboard controls of any PC shooter...I mean it feels as great on mouse/kb as Halo did on the Xbox pad in 2001, like it has you wondering why other games don't feel so smooth. So yeah, that's why I was totally blown away.
That's also why I was kind of disappointed in Crysis 2. I mean, its still a great game, but Crysis 1 was soooo much better.
So Halo 2 is getting an Anniversary Edition?
Like I've said before, I think they would be better off just completely remaking Halo 2...the multi-player is useless now so all you're left with is the campaign, and the campaign was mediocre. It could be great if it was remade, levels were redone, and weapons were balanced out. Just a straight graphical update of this game will not work like it did for Halo Combat Evolved.
This. Why would anyone want to play through that campaign again.
Yeah Crysis doesnt look that great on the 360, Crysis 2 looked better. But wow, its an open island FPS with all these awesome powers, this is what I love. Corridor shooters go to hell, unless you are Doom (in which case it is in hell lol)
I know, that's one of the best settings for a shooter IMO. That's why I'm so pumped that Far Cry 3 is going back to the tropical setting. I wish Crysis 3 was.
That is so true, FC3 now a most wanted. I still need to play Far Cry, I should have played that first huh. Oh well.
I should have been playing Rhythm Heaven Fever which was out yesterday. Instead I was playing the game of nephew vs nephew.

Very cool freebie piratey RPG, charming and with lots of little sub systems here and there making it feel like a commercial product of the late NES or early SNES era. Like mini games to make items used in battle more effective, simple shmup sections when traveling from island to island by ship, using items with drag and drop to interact with the world rather than just walking up to points of interest and pressing a button, etc. Yarr.
Stealth Bastard is free and awesome. I've posted about it before.
From the developers of Explodemon and Fluidity it's pimped as Super Meat Boy meets Metal Gear Solid, and this is their love child. Level editor/sharing included.
Treasure Adventure Game is also free and also awesome. I may have posted of it before.

High Moon Working on Hit Monkey FPS
Oh god, they're actually making a Hit Monkey game? I guess they're hoping the sheer ridiculousness of the idea will get some sales from non-comic fans, because anyone who bought the Hit Monkey comic will stay away from the game. It was awful. If there's any confusion as to the character he's a monkey who wears suits and sunglasses and is a hit man. No super powers or anything. Just a really good assassin who happens to be a monkey. The simple idea of the character worked when he came in for a one-shot appearance and fought Deadpool and Spider-Man, but once they tried to give the character a backstory with his own mini-series the whole thing felt pretty stupid and the idea fell apart.
I've never even heard of Hit Monkey...but High Moon did a great job with Transformers.
Did the release date for The Last Story get changed?
On Gamespot it says July 31st, on IGN it says August 2nd. It was supposed to be out this week.
No surprise you haven't heard of the character. He was created maybe 2 years ago and he only has had 4 or 5 appearances and that counts his 3 issue mini-series. That's another reason I'm confused that they're trying a game for him. Most comic book fans have never ever heard of the character. Doesn't make a lot of sense that they're leveraging the license. Of all their properties.... Hit Monkey???? Like I said before I think they're counting on the idea being so ridiculous that it'll just stand on its own. Then again Marvel could also be ready to do a huge push and bring the book back, but after the last one I kind of doubt it.
Can't wait!
Monster Hunter 4 Screenshots and More Details From the Producer and Director
Famitsu.com posted a transcript of Weekly Famitsu's recent interview with Monster Hunter 4 producer Ryozo Tsujimoto and director Kaname Fujioka. The article has first official in-game screenshots from the game.
The content of the interview is basically the same as what we summarized here. There are a couple of points we didn't mention there.
The "4" in Monster Hunter 4 is read, in Japanese and English alike, as "Four." Previous Monster Hunters used special readings, "Dos" for MH2, and "Tri" for "MH3." Asked about this change, Tsujimoto said that he and Fujioka discussed what to do about the name and decided that since they were taking some new challenges with the game, they'd do something different and go with the more simple "Four" reading. They also redid the logo, highlighting the "MH" part more than it's been highlighted in past MH games.
Capcom debuted first MH4 footage in September of last year, but the footage looked more action oriented, almost like a platformer. According to Tsujimoto, the original footage showed a specially created stage that was designed to show off the various actions that players can perform. The hunters in that trailer were under full control by the staff. The new trailer shows those various gameplay elements in actual game form.
The key word for MH4 is "adventure," said Fujioka. The basic concept of taking on quests from your village and going out on hunts is the same, but they're adding the element of "adventure" to the classic Monster Hunter world view. This is reflected in the game's new caravan component. Unlike past MH games, where players were stationed at a static home village, MH4 makes players into a member of a roving caravan. Hunters are hired by the caravan leader and travel with the caravan, visiting a variety of lands. The villages the caravan encounters along the way all have their own mayor and unique culture.
There are a lot of villages in the game, Tsujimoto said, and a lot of characters. Because the villages are so varied, you'll also encounter a tremendous variety of characters. This is one way in which they hope to offer single players a greater feeling of drama, said Tsujimoto. For multiplayer, Tsujimoto expects that the drama will, like always, be made by players as they play.
The first village you'll visit in the game is called "Barubare." This village was made in the feeling of a marketplace to give players the sense of being in a gathering spot for many people. Players go to Barubare to register their hunters, and will find all the standard facilities one would expect of a Monster Hunter village.
Villages that are encountered later in the game also have the standard, required facilities, but some have special facilities that you won't find anywhere else. Fujioka hopes that in the end, players will select a village of their liking for use as their main base of operations.
Fujioka also discussed the game's new camera options. MH4 adds a new "free camera" to the series. When implementing a free camera, one is usually concerned that the camera controls become too complicated. This is why they added a target camera to the game, first as an experiment in Monster Hunter 3G, and now in MH4. Fujioka is thankful that the 3DS allows for controls via the touch screen, as if the system only allowed for button controls, they would not have come up with the target camera idea.
