Thanks guys. I'm right there with you. I never understand how people can pay hundreds or even thousands of dollars for a dog when there are so many strays in kennels. Mind boggling.

Witcher 2  is simply not that great. Combat is repetitive at higher levels, the world is a series of maze like paths and the game forces you to go back and forth a million times cause there is no fast travel. The story is a bit convoluted and seriously lacking in excitement. I am simply not that engaged, which is sad cause it is gorgeous and it has a very rich world and some great ideas.

Then there are the glitches which annoy then become serious. Stuff like not getting rewards from people that say they are giving you an item. Enemies just getting stuck on their own allowing you to easily kill them. Icons on the map just freaking out, leading you to nowhere. And now I am invincible, I cant die and my magic doesn't recharge either. I ended up in a fight against a mage that is unhittable, I assume I need magic but I have none because of the glitch. He cant kill me, I cant kill him and so I had to turn it off. Hopefully an earlier save fixes that.

I wanted to like it, just isnt doing it for me.  

All my work for the evening is finally done. Now for the big decision.... sit down and finish de Blob 2 and risk the chance of driving a pencil through my skull, or drink a lot of wine while thinking about playing the Saboteur.

Yeah..... that was probably gonna be the winner even if the competition was non-existant. Christ I'm so sick of de Blob I never want to see that again as long as I live.

You know this is kind of how I played the Saboteur the first time. Always had a glass of wine and tried to have some French bread with me on hand as I played. Taking that extra step for true game immersion.

So Binary Domain is a western game made by Japanese?  I don;t know, you can't really tell by looking at it:

I am going to have to assume its just because the console version really isn't the game that the PC version is, as I have seen many times now reviews for PC to console games claiming they are as good or, in some cases, BETTER than the PC versions, when in fact they aren't even close. So I would not be surprised if that is the case yet again with Witcher 2. In fact, this game pushes the PC so hard I would be surprised if this WASN'T the case.

Also, as I said, you missed the entire story of the 1st game, so of course its not going to make any sense to you. This story is a total continuation of W1, its not like its a game with a barely attatched story or one that has little in common with its predecessor.

To me and seemingly most everyone who's played this series on the PC, its some of the most incredible things that have come out of the gaming industry in the past 6 years. And seeing as you normally have good taste in games outside of Sonic, I can't imagine you not loving Witcher as its meant to be.
