WORST REVIEWS for a Zelda console game ever!?!?!?! My god.
I dont think I saw one 9, its all 10s and 8s. This is crazy.
Why do you keep forgetting Majora's Mask?! You know your all time favorite game, that also had pretty ' mixed' reviews.
Omg you are right, it's just like MM which means this is the greatest Zelda ever!! Thanks Iga!
I have been playing Skyrim for the last 3 hours, and I must say I am VERY, VERY, VERY PLEASED!
Awesome graphics. Awesome interface. Quest after Quest after Quest. Plenty of places to explore...
...and BEST OF ALL: No glitches, graphical oddities or lock-ups at all yet!
(PS3 version!)
Leo, does Skyrim still have level scaling like Oblivion?
You know when enemies level up when you do!
Don't know. Haven't heard, and I'm only level 3 right now, so I have no basis for comparison. I'll look around and see if I can find out.
5) Are loot and quest rewards level scaled, like in Oblivion? Will there be any powerful un-scaled items?
Bruce: We’re handling leveling stuff similar to how we did in Fallout 3, but with a few new twists that we hope players won’t even notice. The enemies and loot are based on the “encounter zone” you’re in, so it could be higher or lower level than your current level. We do have a new concept of epic or “special” loot that you can randomly find in many cases, regardless of the zone, and you will still get better stuff in the better zones with your level higher. Same goes for quest rewards. We try to make them appropriate for what you did. Sometimes that is random, sometimes that is a set item. There’s a lot of specific stuff that is very powerful, like the Daedric artifacts.
A lot of interviews do not address enemy level and scaling directly, but this blurb gives you an idea of what they were going for.
Sounds like some sort of scaling is in place.
Okay, I am going to post all the Zelda Reviews now. But first, edit all the ' big news' post. Too much black here.
I am stunned at how good Skyrim is and how much I LOVE IT. Bethesda has NEVER been one of my favorite developers --BUT-- if they keep their promise of squashing bugs as they encounter them and support this game properly, it can become the --BEST-- Fantasy WRPG of all time!
Music is EPIC. Gameplay is streamlined, but not simplified. Combat is AWESOME with the L1 and R1 triggers controlling the action --BUT-- the thing I appreciate the most is: You can "Favorite" Spells, Potions, Scrolls and *probably* Weapons (I haven't tried it yet). Pressing 'Up' on the Directional Pad brings up the Favorites Menu so you can switch between EVERYTHING you need on the fly! AWESOME!
I LOVE the Snowy environments and just spent the last 5 or 6 hours Clearing (and Cleaning Out) my first Dungeon. I discovered my first 'Word of Power' and got a Ancient Great Sword of Ice for my troubles! There was a PERFECT blend of Combat, Exploration and Puzzles in this Dungeon... and this was just a small, optional SIDE-QUEST! THIS GAME IS GONNA BE H-U-G-E ! ! !
...STILL no bugs yet, either!
STEEL! I can't wait to hear your impressions, whenever you get your hands on it!
**I wish Aspro was here to give HIS too!**
I usually can't tolerate Bethesda games because of their many bugs. Most of the time I get my hopes up for the gameplay and then dashed by the sloppiness of it all... I think the changing of the game engine has worked wonders for them. I'm not saying there aren't ANY bugs in Skyrim, but there's faaar less at launch then have been reported from their previous releases. Skyrim is the refinement of many years of ideas from these guys and everything just works WELL.
The 360 version has some sort of weird texture loading bug when the game is installed, but that's the worst one I've heard of so far. Bethesda has acknowledged it and is working on it already. This real-time bug reporting thing that has been mentioned time and again is what REALLY impressed me the most. I can forgive their faults in the past if they actually took steps to DO SOMETHING about them!
So far, it is SOOO good. I'm hoping (serious) problems don't start popping up that I haven't heard of yet. It feels like it's been out for days, even though I've only had it for about 15 hours. ANYTHING can happen as people progress into the world, but I'm more hopeful than I have been in the past, so I don't think my rage-quitting actions from previous Elder Scrolls and Fallout game will repeat.
Now the trick is being in line at time, it's midnight opening so no stupid sleeping over night.
Not if you are British. The Brits really like Zelda it seems, while the French cower under its greatness.
Okay, I'm now at Uncharted's final boss. It's raining, and all I have is a stupid short-range shotgun. Why not a Desert Eagle instead?!
ARGH! I keep dying!
Time to take a break, me thinks. ARGH!
