Just to close the conversation we had the other day about ESRB's problems with the dead island cover, here is the specific guideline that adresses the depiction of a hanging:

“Repeated blows or gun shots inflicted upon people/creatures, violent blows to the head, guns/weapons pointed at head, impaling, exploding body parts, guns/weapons pointed toward reader/audience, depictions of fatal injuries and/or suicide, strangulation/choking, inflicting wounds with swords/knives, kicks to the groin”.

EDIT: GIven Robio's recent discussion of the game, I decided to give it another try, as my prior attempts were always with split/screen co-op.

I changed the controls to "type-C" -- I think that's the one.  It's the one that matches what I was doing in RE4 the closest.  It's tough, but I think it's because of my not thinking the way the designers were.  So, like I stayed in that shack with the horde and the executioner forever, not realizing I could get out of there and run around the shanty town. I not yet ready to recant, I'm not having fun yet -- but I am getting that sweaty palm, "hunker-down and get out of this level" vibe from the game now.

Tried Sonic 4 XBLA demo this morning. Game looks great, but plays like crap! I didn't even finish the demo before turning it off. Oh, and the music is awful too!

Not sure if anyone else here was a Wizardry fan from back in the day, but I was. The summer of 1993 was almost exclusively spent playing Wizardry VII: Crusaders of the Dark Savant.

Is there a game you haven't liked? I don't think I've ever seen you speak poorly of a game before.

I wasn't trying to paint you as someone who only speaks well of games or someone who has low standards. Just honestly trying to remember a game that you didn't like.

And I know I'm passing judgement on Lord of Shadows too soon. I'm really only an hour or so in, though I can say it's not fun yet. It's not typically the kind of game I play (God of War has really been the only 3-D game of this kind I've liked), but I'm trying to go out of my way and play games in genres that I don't normally enjoy or play much of. So far its been a mixed bag.  Bulletstorm was great. Dragon Age II was literally unplayable (due to bugs). And Lord of Shadows is just kinda "meh" right now.
