At the end of the day it was a sloppy move by Junction Point. Sloppy. They took for granted that everyone plays the exact same way and spends time experimenting with the controls in the same way. You can debate until the cows come home on who is weird or wrong for playing the way they play. But you can't debate that JP was wrong on how they handled the feature. This wouldn't be an issue in almost half the reviews out there otherwise. They cover all the other controls in the manual, and in the in-game tutorials, and yet the lock-on was left out in both. What's the justification or explanation for that? In my opinion it's just a lazy thing to do.
Now all of this being said, I don't think the game even needs a lock-on. That may be why I never found it. I've done just fine without it. With no dodge, block, or other defensive moves half the reason of even needing a lock-on seems like its gone. The basic battle technique is knock the enemy down with a spin and then use the paint or thinner. Point and spray! Even with my hand tremor and haviing my couch a foot or so further away from the screen than Nintendo recommends I'm not having any problems in the fight. Lock-on seems either unnecessary or possibly just there to make the fighting even easier.
Good thing I'm not debating that then, but good job in doing that. And yes it's insignificant and shouldn't have been a problem for those who didn't find it, manual control like in most third person games since the PS2 days is sufficient, boss fights often have a fixed camera, and the only use it has is making strafing the enemies that throw thinner at you easier, but they're easy to dispatch anyway. Although some reviewers might have been clamoring for cursor lock on now that I think about it (or they'll claim that after realising their fuck up). Dumbos.

I'm still too skeptical of Williams pinball. On one hand I want it, because the HD version of the game has my very favorite pinball game of all time - Arabian Nights. On the other hand, I can't believe that it's going to be anything like real pinball.
Kinects sold - new 360's sold = current owners who bought Kinect. It's not perfect, but it'll be close enough.
I went through some release dates for early next year, and the PSP has an amazing early line-up!
Check these out!
That's a crazy insane line-up for the first three months! And who knows what else could be announced! The PSP may be dead in the west but at least it's going out with a bang that'll keep me happy!

Monster Hunter 3 is already out. The Portable 3rd from the lesser team with the removed underwater fighting, the atrocious new monster designs, imba features like 2 felynes per quest and most likely expanded grinding will probably also come though. I'll wait for 3G or 4, whatever system they're for, hopefully without these:
Puke.

That Square MH thing looks bleh... Idk about God Eater, it seems to have gotten some following but I thought it looked like a cheap clone that's easier to play... I finished Ys Seven a while ago though, really enjoyable game, quite large with a decent plot twist or two. I hope 3rd Birthday is good. I almost bought Phantasy Star Portable 2 the other day but idk, it will probably be on some sale in a few months and I'll regret it. Are we even getting the updated/expanded Infinity version in the West or is this it for us?

Take-2's soon to be CEO and current Chairman sneers at Activision and says they won't annualize Red Dead and GTA. Well, I know what he's saying BUT:
Red Dead was released this year and there are already TWO games for it and since GTA3 was released in 2001 there have been NINE GTA titles released (GTA3, VC, SA, LCS, VCS, CTW, GT4, LAD, BOGT) -- not counting endless ports and collections.
So... 9 games in ten years for GTA and two games in one year for RDR...
Again, I'm stretching a point, and Rockstar gets away with it because they bring the quality, but he's not as sanctimonious as he claims.
