GT5's B spec mode is awesome. I keep cursing to my AI driver everytime he gets pissed and fucks a race up.
It still looks a bit clunky and outdated, not so fluid like Tales of Graces, but some neat features too. Although I didn't see any farming so maybe they're going all action RPG this time. Lots of pet stuff though.

The Resi Zombie game that the SOCOM team is doing is being shown -- have not heard about the others. A ton of other trailers will be shown though -- which is I guess the reason for the VGA's now (at least a reason to watch).
oceans looks like every other rune factory game just different characters and story i am sure it will be a great game
Good video. There was some farming in it. Around the 1 minute mark you can see the main character watering some plants and harvesting a potato.
Overall it looks near identical to Frontier. If these are taken from the PS3 then I got to ask what was the point? It looks good enough for a Wii game, but definitely not for the PS3. As far as differences or enhancements from Frontier the combat looks very different. There's more action going on there instead of just swinging a sword over and over. That was really my only gripe from Frontier - fighting was a little basic (though never bad).
How hard is it to press a button on your controller, it doesn't matter if the button wasn't covered, its natural to press C to see what it does.
Got to say I'm shocked at the sales of Move and especially Kinnect. What the hell are people playing on them?
Sweet, more Ghostbusters is always a good thing.
Yes it's very easy to do it and pressing the C button center's the camera. However, to hold it down and wait for another function isn't something that's natural to do. In most games, particuarlly with the Wii, one button = one function. I'd like to say I'm a fairly experienced game, and after 6 hours I didn't even accidentally find the lock-on feature.
Oh so you have to hold it down for some time for lock-on, ok that could be weird.
I share your shock and we talk about that on the podcast I'm editing right now.
I think it comes down to there are a lot of people who "aren't us". With a small amount of overlap with the gaming community, I think hte people who are buying this are people who either haven't gottten into gaming for a while, or who liked the Wii and have let it sit and now want to see what the next thing is all about.
The test of my theory will be Kinect sales compared to 360 unit sales when NPD's come out. I'd be shocked if most Kinect sales were not attached to the sale of a 360.
The greater shock to me, in terms of what I see and hear about the US is the enthusiasm for an expensive item when the economy is still suffering so poorly. Unemployment number will get better, as they always do this time of year, but other than that, it's looking pretty rough over there.
I don't think that's possible though. Let's say Patcher is right about an installed base of 8 million by year end. There's no way that MS sells even half that many new consoles in less than 2 months time, even during the holidays. If they pulled something like that off it'd be a miracle, particularly since the cheapest Kinnect bundle is $300. The Wii in it's prime didn't do that at $50 cheaper.
Guess I'm gonna have to listen to the podcast for a change and hear everyoe else's thoughts.
Cool that there's a new Ghostbusters game, but I just read that the original actors won't voice this game.
One HUGE reason why I like Ghostbusters the Video game is because of the original voices. Without them, I probably wouldn't like it as much. It would be just another mediocre third-person shooter, to be honest.

Now Playing: Golden Sun Dark Dawn, God of War Ghost of Sparta, and DKC Returns
Wut? Many games have you hold the button to lock on, and not like Epic Mickey where you can release it but constantly. And no, it's not real weird, just hold vs tap. Plenty games have context sensitive actions where you hold buttons. On Wii as well, like holding down A to pick up weapons in the COD games.
It was a Wii game that they ported to PS3, they should look identical. Actually, they do. The video showing the load times that they've minimised to like half a second was of the Wii version, and it looked like this. It looks like a PS2 game anyway, Frontier didn't exacty push the Wii and neither does this. They just have some nice cheery anime art that makes them look nice, nothing special tech wise. Flat water, no advanced lighting or anything, etc. But overall they look nice, just a bit clunky in how characters move really. At least it has shadows too.

Holding a button to keep lock on is not weird but having the lock on not show up unless you hold it down for a period of time is. If the manual or the game never tells you what C does and you press it and see that it only centers the camera, you would probably think that this button just centers the camera.
I dont think Pachter's right. I'm just talking about the 2.5 million sold thus far. Of the 2.5 million sold, how many went out of the store with a 360 --that's what I am looking for.
I am glad the game developer is going to be able to maximise the energy put into the original game. Last time it was published by Atari, and if they still have the deal they are a company in need of cash cow.
It's also a different developer. Don't know who or what they worked on.
The good thing is that it's a downloadabe game, which is kind of cool. If I were them, I'd make the game into a Ghostbusters meets Diablo and make it a loot game. So that way it'll be addicting and not just a shallow top-down shooter.

^Well, now we are in subjectivity land, which means the critics get to either like or not like the mechanic (not that it was overlooked). That's what you get when you assign humans to these kinds of tasks.
Oh. Bummer. I thought it was a continuation. (Ghostbusters).
Yeah ok the majoritty of people who played the game and found the lock on are weird and press buttons for no reason. It's not weird, just the difference between hold and tap, it's not like it takes two seconds to activate. If you test what holding it does, you will discover it. It's a camera button, who doesn't check those?
