Just playing God of War Ghost of Sparta is astounding me right now. I was blown away with Peace Walker and Resistance Retribution is still impressive.

Seriously, Ghost of Sparta looks like I'm playing God of War 2 on the PS2!

I can't wait to see how the 3DS will be! And I can't imagine how the PSP2 will be!

"Nintendo held a grand event at the Nintendo World Store in NYC yesterday to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Super Mario Bros.  The games creator, Shigeru Miyamoto, happened to be present at the event along with Andrew Gardikis.  Gardikis has completed Super Mario Bros. in a record 5 minutes and was going to try to do it again in front of the game’s creator.

Without James Bond, not so much.

But I do agree the recent CoD single player campaigns aren't that great, aside from a few intense moments. The old WWII ones were really good though.

After Goldeneye COD seems very simple, staged and showy. Goldeneye has brains. The stealth aspect, the level design, the AI and weapons, it all works better than COD.

So did any of you check out the "DKC is just mediocre" thread at gaf.

It was epic. Bannings all over. Two long time members said they will quit posting on gaf forever just cause of that thread.

Obviously I agree with the OP. That said I think DKC Returns looks a million times better than DKC2. The new trailer alone had proof of much better level design. Stages that seem alive. Levels where enemies don't just move in simple patterns and the game looks to have powers and moves beyond jumping or using an animal. Retro >>>> Rare.

DKC Returns looks pretty good. I think someone at Gamespot posted Game Informer's recent reviews even giving the game a Game of the Month award over other top releases.

Retro really is the modern-day Rare. They haven't missed a beat since Prime.

Metroid Other M, Kirby's Epic Yarn, GoldenEye 007, Epic Mickey, and DKC Returns...this really is a great year for the Wii! With Skyward Sword and the possibility of XenoBlade, Last Story, and Dragon Quest X, the Wii may be on its last legs but at least it's going out with a big bang! But hope those RPGs I listed does come out here.

I really want Skyward Sword though. I may not be playing too many games lately but I will ALWAYS have time for a console Zelda game!
