As opposed to previous generations where bugs would remain unfixed forever?
If you don't have your console online, you will get the purest gaming experience. Flaws and all, and no possibility of a fix.
Sucks, not cause I wanted it, but I know they'd been working on it for a long time:
Pirates of the Caribbean game cancled, team layed off. Some still working on Tron.
That Dragon Age 2 pre-order deal sounds great. Looks like I'll be placing my order real soon.
NPD list comes out today but not having the numbers really sucks. At least I can take solace in knowing Reach CRUSHED everything last month. I hope the numbers get leaked soon.
That is pretty funny!
That's a bummer. Feel bad for the employees that got laid off.
Makes me wonder if Disney is disappointed with Tron. This is just odd for them to cut the studio down after finishing up the game. And I didn't know this is the same studio that did Turok.

Of all the months for them to have taken off the numbers...
This one makes the game look pretty good:
The optimist proclaims we live in the best of all possible worlds
while the pessimist fears this is true.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Some leaked numbers are starting to show up, of course, all of them belong to Microsoft, who is probably eager to boast them.
According to Aaron Greenberg during September 483,989 360s were sold.
IGN also reports that Halo Reach sold 3.3 million units.
vader $21 at amazon, today only
Wow. Pokemon numbers. At $60 each. ZONK.
i particularly appreciate the last part of that comment, that those not connected are assumed to be clueless or pirates. but devs these days spend more on QA than ever before. Of course the games are much more complicated, adn there are clearly examples of games that knowingly ship with bugs (see my latest blog).
i read in one of my Retro magazines about this developer who was pinched for time and underpaid, so he made a boss that was unbeatable so he would not have to code the later levels of the game. He got paid, game shipped. ASSHOLE. This is not hearsay, this was an intrview with the actual dude.
Anyway those are some great numbers for the 360 and Reach.
numbersstuff:1.Halo: Reach (Microsoft, Xbox 360)
2.Madden NFL 11 (Electronic Arts, Xbox 360, PS3, PS2, Wii, PSP)
3.Dead Rising 2 (Capcom, Xbox 360, PS3, PC)
4.NHL 11 (EA, Xbox 360, PS3)
5.FIFA Soccer 11 (EA, Xbox 360, PS3, PS2, PSP, Nintendo DS)
6.Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep (Square Enix, PSP)
10.Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (Activision Blizzard, Xbox 360, PS3, PC)
"Halo: Reach generated about $216 million in sales, said Wedbush Securities analyst Michael Pachter. "Pretty impressive."
But Halo: Reach was not enough to boost industry sales out of a six-month swoon. Total sales of hardware and software, including PC games, were down 8% from Sept. 2009. Overall sales hit $1.22 billion, compared to $1.32 billion last September.
Hardware sales of $383 million were down 19%, compared to Sept. 2009 ($427 million). "While industry sales of new physical retail sales show a decline versus year ago, it's important to remember that there is a growing volume of content being sold digitally, or otherwise outside the traditional retail channel," Frazier said. "These numbers reflect the largest channel for hardware, software and accessories sales, but there are content sales happening elsewhere."
On Friday, NPD plans to release a report on total video game consumer spending for the first half of 2010."
So how, in this world where the PSP is decimatd by piracy, does a Kingdom Hearts game land at #6?
Is it just that people who like that franchise are too clueless or moral to pirate?
(Keep in mind that I could execute game pirates without flinching, even though I am against the death penalty and don't consume animal products).
Dissidia was also on the NPDs when it came out. I think Square-Enix games just has a market even for PSP games. And there was no PSN/digital release, which I think accounted a lot to MGS Peace Walker sales which didn't show up on the NPDs.
