I can already tell, this phrase is going to be used a hell of a lot to justify re-releases of old content. And it's going to annoy me.
3DS is £181 when you convert yen to UK pounds. Same price as Wii at launch. Not bad, but it will be jacked up to £200 minimum, probably more.
Editing glitch.
Love, is a mysterious thing. He says that SMG2 was "perfectly designed" but that he's having more fun with Dead Rising 2. He particularly liked the humor found in the construction and customization mechanics (and liked the time pressure that made such things even more perverse).
Over at giantbomb they were less enthusiastic in their podcast. Gerstmann liked the open world creativity and felt it constrained by the missions.
I'm just amazed that a western studio took it over with what sounds like no transition problems.
I see.
I will probably pick it up at hobo price.
Nintendo releases screens, videos, and everything else talki See everything from the conference!
It's all in Japanese. How am I supposed to know what to click on
So does the price change your view on the 3DS? In terms of your enthusiasm or liklihood of day one purchase?
So, to me it looks like -from SFIV and RE Revelations- that the 3DS can do fairly accurate translations of 360/PS3 graphics on games with smaller environments. It has worse texture quality than wii, but with the shaders, you don't seem to notice so much. This system with the 3D display will be great for dark, confined games like Splinter Cell, Doom 3, Riddick, Resident Evil, Silent Hill etc.
Still from the montage the visuals of some of those games ranges from DS quality to 360 quality (albeit with much lower res textures)
Holy shit, Animal Crossing 3DS looks sick
Better than the Wii version.
And OOT looks great. Godamn I own this game on N64 and on the GC collection disc. Must....... resist....... now fully realized in stunning 3D!
£200 is what I was expecting, I think in the thread I speculated it would cost as much as Wii did at launch. If it was £250 that would definetly put me off.
OMG, Nintendogs looks great with teh fur shading and new wall and floor shaders. DOA Dimensions looks slick. Hot damn, OOT looks so much cleaner and tempting.
Is that an induction charger in the video or just a little stand. If it's a stnad it will look nice, but a simple adaptor is more portable and practical.
Revelations looks significantly better than Mercenaries. Not suprised seeing how Mercenaries is a down port.
Capcom are graphically so far ahead of the rest of the pack it's almost embarrasing other devs.
Coming soon:
LEO'S WANG, now fully realized in stunning 3D!
Asphalt by Konami 3DS
Crap, I have to go out.
So. Black and Blue are gonna be the launch colors...? BOOO...!
I'm generally not bitchy about things like this... but that's a fugly combo.
EDIT: Wait, so black OR blue? I thought it was both black and blue -- the one pictured. If it's black or blue, that's cool.
Oh god, you're going to release that?
Again, I apologize. That was a shit podcast.
I'm hacking it together. The content wasn't so much the problem as the audio quality. Vader's fan, and you vary from perfect to very faint.
That's something apparently in Case Zero. You really would need to be told that it was a Western team, because it feels EXACTLY like the last game. Whether or not it's a bad thing, I'll leave that to you.
Also, trusting Giant Bomb? I know they make funny stuff, but something about their opinions...I don't know...
Ah right. I look forward to seeing what you do with it.

Nintendogs + Cats
Genre: Communication, Player Count: 1 -- Kittens appear in this game for the first time. You'll interact with the kittens differently from the puppies, and you'll also get to see kittens and puppies interact with one-another. Your virtual pets will lick you if you bring your face close to the screen.
Pilotwings Resort
Genre: Flight Action, Player Count: 1 -- This is set in the same island resort as Wii Sports Resort. You take control of your Mii and enjoy sky sports in planes, rocket belts and hang gliders. The game includes Mission Flight, which challenges you with events, and a Free Flight mode, where you freely fly through the island.
Star Fox 64 3D
Genre: Shooting, Player Count: 1-4 -- a 3D version of Star Fox 64. The characters now speak in full voice. The game also has auto save, and makes things easier for unskilled shooters by allowing you to retry from midpoints as much as you want. You view the action on the top screen, with the bottom screen showing character messages.
Steel Diver
Genre: Action, Player Count: 1-2 -- Enjoy three different types of submarine games. There's a scroll action game where you move forward while controlling the touch panel. There's an action game where you use your periscope to shoot torpedos at enemy ships. There's also a turn-based strategy game.
Kid Icarus
Genre: Shooting, Player Count: 1 -- A 3D sooting game with 3 control types. You attack with the L button, move and evade with the analogue pad, and aim with the touch screen. You'll switch off between ground and air play.
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D
Genre: Action Adventure, Player Count: 1 -- A 3DS version of Nintendo 64's Ocarina of time. The lower screen shows your sub screen at all times, making equipping items and such more convenient.
Animal Crossing
Genre: Communication, Player Count 1-4 -- The latest entry in the Animal Crossing series retains the premise of allowing you to experience life in a village. The game adds a new element where you become the village head and create your own village. The graphics promise to retain the look of the series while delivering a 3D feel.
Paper Mario
Genre: RPG, Player Count 1 -- The theme this time is stickers. You'll need to place stickers on the maps that float like paper crafts on the screen. The stickers are used to open up new paths. There's also a battle system where your failure or success depends on the stickers you've selected.
Mario Kart
Genre: Action Race Game, Player Count: TBA -- This latest entry in the Mario Kart series promises 3D visuals, and dynamic and impactful races. You'll be able to race friends and people throughout the world via wireless and internet play.
The Resident Evil games look awesome, those will be likely purchases for me. I'll probably keep my playing of fighters on the home consoles so Tecmo better be bringing a new Dead or Alive game on the 360/PS3.
