Some of these levels would have been a great deal of fun with multiplayer.
I got to kill (accidentally) 007 in the first 3 minutes and now I've got Pussy Galore -- what's not to love?
here are some of Gerstmann's lines from his review: "Some of the death animations are a little too drawn out, and get a little repetitive over time." Well maybe if you DIE all the time. And there is only one death animation, which is essentially your first person camera falling over.
Then after two paragraphs of talking about the special abilities you unlock in the game he ends the review by saying, " Rogue Agent is competent at best, but mostly it's a subpar first-person shooter that fails to stand out in any way."
Not completely dead. And I don't think the gaming industry will completely die as long as Nintendo, Hideo Kojima, and Capcom is still making games.
As for Square-Enix, some of their PSP stuff is cool but I have to admit that their console JRPGs and ideas are getting lamer every time they come out with a new game. FFXIII is a mess. If it wasn't for Lightning, it would've been the worst FF game I ever played.
And Nomura's Versus XIII's concept and the world he's creating just feels so unimaginative and dull. I can't believe it's been almost five years since he started development. If he was working in the west, him and his team would've been shut down already! I think he's making the small Kingdom Hearts games on the DS to fund his projects. Versus XIII doesn't look so great, IMO. It just feels so unappealing to me. It's so kitsch, if you know what I mean.
I think in a few years, the only thing that will keep Japan alive is Monster Hunter, Dragon Quest, handheld gaming, and Nintendo. Square-Enix can't make one game every five years and they're losing relevance every year their games get delayed. And you know Namco-Bandai is dying a slow and excruciating death into obscurity. Hideo Kojima and Capcom still knows how to appeal to the west, but that's about it.
The sad thing is I still prefer Japanese developed games in many ways since I love JRPGs. But I fear for them. Seeing the sad current state of console JRPGs remind me of the dire state the developers are in.
The 3DS and the PSP keeps the hope alive and I think Japan is becoming more of a handheld industry. I guess I'd be happy with that, sad, but still content because I know that JRPGs will still come out for them. And my hope still relies on Capcom. As long as they make Resident Evils, Street Fighters, VS series, etc., I'll still be happy.

Japan. NOT. DEAD.
Love Japan. Long Live Japan.
I know a old friend who worked on that game. He did some concept art for story boards.
I lost contact with him though. He was a high school art friend where a bunch or artists hung out together to talk about geeky comic book and video game stuff.
We hardly talked about girls. It wasn't because we weren't interested but because we couldn't get any dates!

Saw the trailer, seems really like No More Heroes. Is it?
Not particularly.

Boy drops DS in gorilla cage inadvertently creates the best photo op ever
Nintendo launched the DSi XL with the purpose of attracting elderly consumers with bad vision, gamers who sought a portable reading device, and people who wanted to play with the handheld in social settings. But there's a new market segment that also seems interested - gorillas.
So this little boy was just walking around the San Francisco zoo, doing what every boy who is dragged to the zoo tends to do - play video games - when he accidentally dropped his DSi XL into the gorilla habitat. And wouldn't you know it, a professional photographer happened to be right there.

Above: Parents take note: THIS is how to keep your kid from playing the wrong kind of games.
Still photos and video capture a large gorilla that found the DSi, picked it up and started trying to figure out how the darn thing worked. At one point a smaller gorilla came up to take a look, just like the jealous kids on the elementary school playground.
After reportedly being unable to figure out the confusing friend code system, the gorilla knocked it around and eventually lost interest.
The boy got his system back when a trainer lured the gorilla with an apple and was able to snatch the device out of the gorilla's hands. It then grabbed a princess and jumped up a tower of ladders and construction beams before throwing down barrels of oil.
Although the DSi was pretty beaten up, the rigorous inspection didn't stop it from working. It turned right back on and the boy was able to continue his game, which unfortunately was most likely not this one. So congratulations, DSi XL, you have officially passed the American Tourister test. It seems Nintendo hasn't gone astray from its history of extreme durability.
Above: This gorilla reminds me of my older brother, except he's not grabbing the little gorilla's other hand, mashing it into his face and asking "Why are you hitting yourself?" over and over.
On a related note, we hear that Sony is already planning on taking a trip to the San Diego zoo to conduct a PSP focus group in the monkey cage.

They need to do magazine/newspaper ads with those pictures with the tagline: Everybody wants one.
The gorilla is probably looking at his reflection judging from the photo. Or playing Nintendogs.
The DS is so small in the pics they could get away with using the pics in a 3DS ad.
That shit with the ape is fucking hilarious! As you can see, Apes are just as selfish as humans.
Animals can't see their own reflection. Get your animal misinformations right, man!
Anyone can play Nintendogs, though.
You'll always have more time invested in the 360 though, so it will always be your #1. By the time PS3 even begins to catch up, it will be the end of the generation anyway. As much as I've tried not to at times this gen, the 360 is definitely my #1 too. Outside of the durability problems, it just did everything right this gen.
I bet Sony are pissed. They could've used this opportunity to pimp a new Ape Escape.

I WANT TO BELIEVE.
I love the look the big ape gives to the little one. It's just like when my nephew comes for my phone.
