Well its definitely better than I remembered it but to compare it to the greats like Mario is a big no. Its a great basic platformer.
This is from the new DKC Returns preview:
Donkey Kong Country: timeless platforming classic that set Rare on the road to super-stardom, or wildly overrated plod-’em-up which only got the attention it did thanks to some pretty, pseudo-3D graphics? It’s a debate that has raged inconclusively for the last 15 years, and this rebirth will give another generation a crack at answering it.A bit of both I say.True gameplay diversity, incredibly level diversity, a game that will surprise you around every corner. 50 in game level, thats huge. The creator gun, awesome, I can already see some great puzzles and platforming that will come from that.
It's probably better that way.

Direct-to-video?
It must be so good that the movie companies thought that only the select group of special fans will know that this actually came out and so they can watch it privately while everyday movie-goers won't be able to experience this amazing movie!
LOL! There's a King of Fighters movie also, in case you guys didn't know!

Now Playing: Golden Sun Dark Dawn, God of War Ghost of Sparta, and DKC Returns
After playing some Castlevania Harmony of Despair, I miss my DS Castlevanias. I sold them off like an idiot and now I'm kind of regretting it.
I know a few places that sell them but if I wanted all three games (Dawn of Sorrow, Portrait of Ruin, and Order of Ecclesia) it'd set me back close to $65-70!
Part of me wants them again, but another part of me says that it'd be just a waste of money since I beat these games already.
What should I do?
I think I should just save my money and purchase Harmony of Despair and just enjoy that...do you guys agree?

I have that already.
You're right, but the DS games have their own charm to them.
I think I should just save my money. I think $70 is too much for games I already played.

Last Story looks great. I hope this game gets the attention it deserves.
This is why you never, never sell your games! (says the guy who is currently selling 3/4 of his video game collection).
Maybe buy one of the DS games back and see if that sates your appetite.
Yay! Welcome back Hamzik!
I'd go along with that. If I were a third party I'd be shovelling all my coal into the 3DS.
Metroid!!!!
"My demo was admittedly very short so I didn't get much of a chance to savor the moments, but I will say that the game, while visually strong, has a very "clunky" feel to it that hasn't gone away since my last hands-on. The game's been designed around the Wii remote exclusively, and while it's great to get a Metroid game that harkens back to the old-school NES and Super NES days, it's hard to ignore a lot of the stiffness of the game's control. Wall jumping didn't feel as fluid and natural in this game, for example. And while I can appreciate the Wii pointer control for first-person mode, it feels awkward to jump in and jump out constantly – not to mention that you can't move around while you're looking through Samus' visor -- only rotate from the spot that you were standing in when you jumped into first-person mode"---IGN
Hmmm, I think they made a mistake not using both the remote & analog stick with the game. It would have allowed for far better controls, and movement in first-person. Its like they've intentually limited the game's interface for some foolish reason. But regardless, still sounds like a great game.
Also this:
It also felt like the game plays itself a lot of the time due to its auto-targetting system. When you run into a room filled with enemies, you can simply point Samus in their direction and simply fire away and know that they'll be taken down by random blaster shots.
A few other things they mention, wall jumping never felt good in any Metroid game, I can't imagine this game being any worse. The chicken creature is of course the alien creatures that help Samus in Super Metroid and Fusion, nice to hear that they are back.
Never sell your games. You deserve to be punished. *Hugs copy of all three DS Castlevanias*
