Does it have bears in it? If not I'm not even watching
When he designed RE5, it was probably easier not to screw it up because all he and Capcom had to do was copy the successes of RE4. But when it came to Lost Planet 2, it was obvious he didn't have what it took to make a western type of third-person shooter that can compete with the likes of Gears of War. LP2's failure is probably why Capcom took him off of RE6.
And the poor reviews which were like 6s and 7s killed the game at retail, big time! I think those reviews made people decide that the game wasn't worth it at $60, but probably worth checking out with a price drop around $20-30. That's how I felt about the game. I was interested when they first showed the game but then when the poor reviews started coming in, I decided to check out the game when it gets a price drop. Still waiting for that price drop. Around $20 will be good.
Because LP2 was designed with the western market in mind, like Dead Rising and the first LP was, the competition was pretty fierce coming in. LP2 had a lot of potential though. But I think Japanese developers are still learning on how to make a good multiplayer that can compete with the popular western games.

Jesus, this article is HUGE.

RE5 is their second bestselling game though. I believe it was Takuchi's own decision to give up on the RE series after trying to live up to RE4 owners expectations.
I loved what I saw of LP2 when I first saw it, that huge frog like boss. Then I sort of realised that it was a massive bullet sponge. The reviews really did kill it though. Hardcore gamers read the reviews and know when something is worth buying.

Also, I hope they don't botch it up like their screwy Hydro Thunder review, which is one of the worst reviews ever written. The reviewer gave that game a 5.5 The funny thing is, when you see Metacritic, IGN is the only review with a bad review. All the other 15 or so reviews gave the game higher scores and loved it. Also, those reviews contradict every bad thing the IGN review says!
When you have 15 other reviews loving the game and one odd one coming in and claiming the game is bad, it's apparent that the IGN reviewer sucked at the game and had no idea what he was talking about!
By the way, Hydro Thunder is a fun and addictive game! Just don't tell Steel about it...
...because you know how he feels about water racing games!

He probably left because he didn't want to take the pressures of designing a big name game anymore. Also because in Japan, I think employees leave on their own instead of being let go, it's sort of like that honor thing, right?
And his departure and LP2 failing is warranted. I read rumors on the forums how Taekuchi would get into shout matches with everyone during development. This was during RE5's development which probably made the work place unpleasant. You can imagine the shout matches and fights that might've taken place during LP2's development.

There's no take, just annoyance that people can't seem to remember the shit I told them thousands times before.
Metroid other M is a collaboration between Team Ninja, Team Metroid (I am not sure what their official name is) and D-Rockets for he cut scenes. If you think the game is going to be crap, that is your right, but don't blame it on Team Ninja.
For 2 reasons I say this.
1) They are in collaboration with 2 other teams, including the Metroid guys.
2) Yoshio Sakamoto actually contacted Team Ninja and asked for their collaboration. He was not forced to do that. And even if Team Ninja does something wrong, he is still the producer and can stop and correct things. Heck in a interview it was said that Team Ninja wanted to use the nunchuck, while Sakamoto inspired by NSMBWii wanted to go Wiimote only.
Some people don't like the story focus and blame Team ninja for that. Well guess what Sakamoto wrote the scenario. Even better he wrote the whole fucking Metroid manga.
There are some design decisions in Oher M that I do not like, but let's be honest here people. All responsibility falls on Sakamoto's shoulders. He hired those guys and he had the power to stop some decisions. Actually most of the controversial decisions have been made by him. So quit the crap and stop scape goating Team Ninja.
And and another point. If you say you don't trust Team Ninja, you are saying that you do not trust Sakamoto, for he was the once who approached them.
Metroid team, with Team Ninja and D-Rockets. Together. Totally different from Wii-Fit which had some Zelda team members, but also people from other games. Nintendo is known for shuffling team members around. Koizumi of Galaxy fame, worked on Link's Awakening and other Zelda games before.
Your second argument was that if Wii Fit was not released we would have Zelda Wii by now, but you forgot that two Zelda DS games were released in that time. Guess who made? Team Zelda.
And from interviews Zelda Wii was saved by the Wii Sports Resorts team. So suck at that for a while. Really getting tired of discussing things with you. You say I am wrong, we get in a fight and eventually you agree. Let's just skip all these steps and start agreeing with me from the beginning. Saves a lot time

Tell me to get back to rewriting this site so it's not horrible on mobileI'm still kind of shocked as hell. I had kind of put it hold until after Labor Day (Sept. 6th) when I had more free time for it and hadn't done anything else to promote it since last month. Got to say I think I earned myself a beer.
Capcom didn't have to hide the game like they did, this is probably the only official video for Wii, and it's quite old:
Here's some random Samurai Warriors 3 footage for comparison. They look about the same in overall visual quality I think. Koei's game seems a bit lower end and muddier perhaps, with even more pop-in too, but it also seems to have more enemies on-screen, though that could be the levels shown I guess.
