LMAO Anyway I think the console makers should allow for AO content and adult entertainment companies such as Vivid to make stuff for their systems. It's a pretty significant untapped market for them.
I'd tap it
Penis picks.
Anyway, NPD, nice jump for Sony, it should only get better. Madden is doing fine. Batman did excellent and the PS3 version almost beat the 360 version. Wii Sports Resort will sell a billion copies. Wii needs a price cut or it wont be first place next month.
I got Turtles in Time reshelled, they messed it up. I dont care for the new look, the music is HORRIBLE and it doesnt even feel right. I would rather play the SNES version any day.
Tried the Star Wars Republic Heroes demo, its ok. It will be like a 6 range game. It has semi-old school gameplay mechanics, the jedi sections are almost beat em ups. The clone trooper segements are shooters, you can use twin stick shooting which is nice. Its nothing great, just simple arcade style gameplay.
Check out this 7 minute gameplay montage from Ratchet ACIT.

I think its so amazing that I am calling this the Mario Galaxy of Ratchet games.
WTH? A good Need for Speed game? Wow, I just watched IGN's Video Review of this game, and I have to admit, the game does look great. I may have to break my ban against Need for Speed games soon.
Looks more like a mash up of various Rare games, their platformers and Jet Force Gemini. I dont like the colour palette in thse games. Steel and a sort of green/grey permeate everything. Then you have this strange yellow and pastels.
As for that Maestro DS game, I'm torn, it looks a little simple and it has you continually propelled forward. Not sure really.
Really? I think it looks great. I'd definitely buy it if I had a PS3.
I've played them all and they are impossible levels of hard.
Ok so the GS thread of NPD is a mess. They got me all worked up and I had to respond. A bunch of guys at GS think that Nintendo is on a totally different market than 360 and PS3. That the true battle for gamings number one console is only between the 360/PS3. That both Sony and MS dont care at all about Nintendo numbers cause they are after a different audience. These people are Carnage, Grammaton and a few others.
WTF. You cannot tell me that MS and Sony don't look at Nintendo numbers constantly and want to be them. It is absurd to think that MS and Sony don't want a piece of that and that Nintendo doesn't want the success that many of the third party games have on the 360/PS3. Just cause Nintendo tapped into a new market doesn't mean they are off on their own in some new industry.
Shame about turtles.
Wii defintely wont be top next month, how many months has it been number 1 though? Think about it, if Sony let Vivid put porn on PSN the numbers will erect even higher!
Game looks good, just colour palette choices. I think about it a lot doing design. I like having strong contrasts and prime colours.
"That the true battle for gamings number one console is only between the 360/PS3"
The TRUE battle. LOL that says it all really.
If MS and Sony didn't care about Wii sales and all then there wouldn't be flow of reactionary moves like avatars and motion controllers. Or these constant soundbites about expanding the audience and reaching new audiences.
Wii may have more cooking simulators and gardening games but they are still GAMES so its a gaming console that is competing like anything else.
Nintendo doesn't count. They're for teh kiddiez. Saying Nintendo is competing with MS/Sony would be like saying Care Bears movies are in direct competition with Quentin Tarantino's movies. Sorry, but no.
But the gaming version of Tarantino is Suda 51.
And he makes his games on the Wii, so there!
Yes, the game you've all been waiting for.
Sky surfing with mario and sonic.
Here is one example of what was said in the thread.
I guess its time for another installment of Carnage Corner *cue music*:
*Shrugs* Nobody is denying that Wii sales are strong, its just that the race for the hardcore is a two system race and the Wii isn't one of those systems.
Nintendo is catering to its longtime faithful (former N64/GC owners who can't get enough of Mario, Zelda and Metroid) but it has no interest in competing with the wider market, where competition is cutthroat and the margins are smaller. So from the perspective of the vast majority of hardcore gamers, the Wii isn't really relevant this gen, though it is a videogame system.
But don't take my word for it (I'm apparently just a nameless fanboy on the internet ). Read the interview below.
http://business.timesonline.co.uk/tol/business/industry_sectors/technology/article2063714.ece
"Sitting, fully clothed, in his swish Santa Monica hotel room, Satoru Iwata gleefully tells The Times that he is swimming in a clear sea teeming with women, pensioners and repentant couch potatoes.
The Nintendo president, a man in the throes of reinventing the $30 billion video games industry, hasn't just cracked under the pressure.
(He relaxes at home, he earnestly explains, by playing Nintendo's new "cookery game", a typically left-field title that teaches how to prepare Japanese food).
Rather, he is explaining his belief in the "Blue Ocean" theory of business, which says that to succeed you must reach markets (blue oceans) that are free from competitors. Venturing into "bloody red oceans", where packs of rivals fight tooth and nail, can only lead to failure. The central premise – that it is best to zig when others zag – sums Mr Iwata up perfectly."
My life is complete.
If you define the market as people who play 360 and PS3, then yes, it is a 2-console race. Just like the "hardcore" vehicle market between Chevy and Ford, those casual foreign cars have a completely different market and don't count. Whoops.
