Sorry about your PM, Leo, I couldn't read it until late night yesterday. By that time, Dan had already locked the thread up already.
And yeah, the sexual tension between those two guys could have been cut with a knife.
HOLY SHIT I just read that guy's post about staying up late. All out of a sudden, that Reggie avatar looks rather creepy than funny.
Yeah. There's just something sooo wrong about discussing gay porn in a Kirby Union... I went from hating the punk to being extremely creeped out by him.
For months, Sony has promoted Media Molecule's LittleBigPlanet as its first substantial test of the Game 3.0 model first put forward by Phil Harrison at Game Developer's Conference in February 2007.
While the game did debut at number eight on the all-platform top 10 chart following its release in October 2008, it then faded below the top 20 on the crowded November chart. Going into December, the game had launch-to-date sales of only 356,000 units.
While it did not make the top 20, sales of LittleBigPlanet did rebound in the final month of 2008 to 255,000 units, bringing its LTD total to 611,000 units after three months. In a November interview, the head of Sony's public relations for the UK, David Wilson, expressed a belief that that "Sackboy hasn't even hit his stride yet" and that sales would pick up in December.
Resistance 2 is the sequel to Resistance: Fall of Man, Insomniac's alternate history shooter and a key launch title for the PlayStation 3 in November 2006. After launching with 385,000 units in November 2008, Resistance 2 sales fell 45 percent in December. Its LTD total now stands at 598,000 units.
For context, it is helpful to note that the original sold through 757,000 units in its first 13 months, but on a much smaller userbase and with fewer big-name titles for competition. It appears likely that Resistance 2 will surpass sales of Resistance: Fall of Man within the first few months of 2009.
Metal Gear Solid 4 Passes 1 Million
According to figures from the NPD Group, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots has now sold over 1.076 million units since its launch in mid-June of 2008:
MGS4 was the PlayStation 3's first game to reach number one on the NPD Group's all-format monthly sales charts, with consumers purchasing nearly 775,000 copies of the game. It subsequently fell from the top 20 charts, and has averaged around 50,000 units per month in the interim.
The figures shown here, however, are only for sales of the boxed versions of Metal Gear Solid 4. Total sales are likely much higher, since additional copies were sold to consumers in special PlayStation 3 hardware bundles.
NEW PRINCE
The new entry in Ubisoft's Prince of Persia series also failed to chart after its launch in early December. Sales of the console versions -- on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 -- totaled only 483,000 copies. During 2007, Ubisoft's new property, Assassin's Creed, sold 1.87 million copies just on the Xbox 360, although it did launch more than two weeks earlier and benefited from the late November sales rush.
Because you lack the balls to make them show up. Want some balls? I have balls to spare.
Fuckers!
Edge are you keeping your 360 games? Or keeping your save data in case you want to resume ownership in the future?
Nope. 90% of my Xbox 180/360 games I'm going to get on the PC anyway, and the few exclusives I could always just rebuy down the road. There's really only a handful of games there.

Those GTA DS screens are great. I really like the style man....its simple yet gritty, reminds me of the great edgy games back in the old days that almost had kind of a edgy, yet lighthearted vibe because of the graphical style.
That really sucks bout Persia, but I'm not that surprised. I think many people are burnt out on Persia right now, and on top of that the new game tok many by surprise because its so different, and also really didn't get hyped as much as ASS Creed.
Oh, and LOL @ the creepy Leo dudes. Only Leo could find people like that.

GTA has become a certain pick up for me. It looks pretty cool. I couldn't play it if it was 2-D birds eye overhead view like the older games, but I can handle this quasi-top down isometric 3-D look. I somewhat laugh at Prince of persia sales. Ass Creed had such mixed reviews and sold 6 million or whatever and then this comes out with its automated gameplay in a franchise they have whored a little too much with a gameplay style thats a little too rigid in the past. And the producer Ben Mattes was complaining about sales and lack of recognition for this game and Dead Space.
Sorry about all the Winter links, I would delete them if I could. I posted a thread about the game with all the pics and info.
IGN: Tell us what happened. Why didn't this game find a publisher? What was the general reaction?
Dan: We pitched Winter tirelessly for months. The response was universally positive. Every single PD department was very excited about it and confident about moving forward. The look, the story, the overall tone and genre, the gameplay mechanics -- it all came together to create something very compelling for the Wii, something that got gamers excited.
A word of advice: don't go down there.
With each presentation would come a wave of enthusiastic follow-ups from the publisher. There was so much clamor for the title it was, frankly, kind of overwhelming. We left GDC that year feeling very confident about placing the title quickly and on our terms.
Unfortunately, that wasn't to be. In almost every case we got hung up with the sales and marketing groups. They simply could not get behind a survival horror title on the Wii. In spite of great sales for Resident Evil 4 and the Umbrella Chronicles, these groups were unable to support the projections required to create a viable P&L for the title. The idea of an "adult" game on what they perceived to be a "kids" console was simply too big a leap for them, regardless of the enthusiastic support of the PD department and the Wii's total domination in the marketplace.

There is a single new Cursed Mountain screen:
Sony Exclusives: LittleBigPlanet and Resistance 2

Metal Gear Solid 4 Passes 1 Million
