Yeah but they would also have made the game different in some aspects had they not used the Wii-mote. I guess personal taste has to be taken into account because personally I don't mind collect-a-thons myself I rather enjoy them but it's not like I hate it if games don't have them. I'm really very lenient in my gaming and like most things unless they're outright busted somehow. Sure I'd like to see Zelda and such with 1:1 motionplus control. I really like what the Wii-mote brings to gaming but for me I'd still be swayed more to what the more powerful machines can do over the Wii-mote controls of the game. This is why I was really hoping Microsoft would bring out their motion controller at E3.
It really would be nice to have a Wii controller with PS3 like power. I can't deny that.
I don't know, I think it's pretty much impossible not to rate games in the context of their platform because of the technical aspects. It wouldn't be fair to compare the audio and video aspects of the DS to say the 360.
^^Well you could get into PC gaming, mouse control, super graphics and you can play with wii-mote hacks. So you would have everything. Or you could wait for the next-generation, which would be interesting. I wonder what Microsoft and Sony will do?
This is something I'd like to see next-gen. A reasonably priced console with 1:1 motion control but still have the option for standard control. $500 is my limit for cost but $400 would be preferrable.
I'd really like to get into PC gaming because there are quite a few games I really like on it especially RTS games and I kind of enjoy messing around with PC's in general both with the hardware and software aspects. It's just that there is such a huge diversity of games I enjoy on the consoles. I just need to try and hold on buying games for them all the time to save up the money to put a decent gaming rig together.
So when you play a game on one system you say, 'Well this game's is great on here, but if I played it on system X it would be considered ass because there's less polygons'?
I don't usually compare handhelds to consoles though. But that may be because I don't like handhelds.
$200 would be preferrable to me. Hell, I'd even except $150.
I was thinking the same thing $200 seems fine.
Well I think you need to be reasonable as well because you're going to get what you pay for. I certainly wouldn't expect a company to put out a machine that costs them $500+ for $200 or $150. The system should last 5 to 6 years so you're going to want it to have decent tech in it. Of course I don't want something so on the cutting edge that it will cost the consumer $1,000 either.
No but saying a game rates a 10 in graphics on the DS is not equivalent to saying a game rates a 10 in graphics on the 360.
Reasonable tech for its time....like the Gamecube had? Like the N64 had?! $200??!! Why is this not possible anymore? We need to take a stand and DEMAND this be done!
Or we can sit back and accept higher prices and shittier durability, until one day when we realise things have gotten so out of control they can't be fixed, kind of like the American public to its government.
Ehem....sorry.
Oh I get ya. I don't give games an overall rating by production values though. But in that way yes you do have to be system specific. My overall rating for any given game is just based on how great of an experience it is, which is what I meant about trancsending consoles.
MIKAMI, mikami mikami mikami mikami!!!!

Wii kills everything.
Pretty good numbers for Soulcalibur IV what with only a day or two of sales accounted for. It'll be interesting to see how well it did in next month's chart.
And here I thought that the PS3 version of Soul Cal would actually sell more. Oh well...
Morning from Melbourne, anyways. Not feeling rather well.
Burnout getting released on the PSN...now that's something. Just one positive reason of why I like PSN added to the many as to what I hate it.
