Okay, new week. What have you guys been doing?
I have watched 3 anime movies on veoh. The were Perfect Blue, Tokyo Godfathers and Millennium Actress. I recommend them all. Perfect Blue is a thriller compared often to Hitchcock movies, Millenium Actress is a sad story about an actress and Tokyo Godfather is just plain awesome. I showed my friend through Skype the link to Tokyo Godfathers, and he said it was the best he has ever seen. And I agree, it was the best he has ever seen. The other two are also awesome. Do not miss them.
I can give a more detailed view, but I think it best going into a movie with as little knowledge as possible. I thougt the name Perfect Blue sounded familiar, so I said: let's watch it. I knew nothing about Tokyo Godfathers and little about Millennium Actress. Do not ask why, just watch them, because they are awesome.
TV still broken so haven't been gaming lately.
w00t. New week! I declare this one: Testicle week!
I'm watching School Days now. Still watching Initial D 4th season. And I couldn't play a damn thing this weekend because of work. >__<
I could not play anything for more than a week! I saw some videos of Mario Galaxy speed runs and all sort of insane short cuts. So awesome, the gravity physics are truly the next step in platforming. This game will still be played and remembered 10 years from now!
I've been continuing with Persona 3: FES (finished The Journey, onto The Answer). I want to finish the FES portion of the game, but this is WAY too much. The Journey took 92 HOURS, and The Answer takes out the social aspects that broke up the tower grinding, so now it's entirely dungeon crawling that's actually done worse.
You also can't choose a difficulty for The Answer. I played through on Normal on The Journey, and The Answer just says that it's more difficult. No idea how difficult relative to the Hard difficulty I didn't play.
I also don't care for the bosses outright cheating. I fought several rounds in a battle with a fire-resistant Persona and the boss never used any Agi (fire) skills. I go one round with a Persona weak against fire and it immediately targets me.

Tell me to get back to rewriting this site so it's not horrible on mobileSo the new Persona stuff really isn't even worth it? Just kind of tacked on dungeon stuff (the most boring part)? I guess I shouldn't have bothered waiting for the special edition then.
It has some extra story stuff, but no, it's not worth it--I'm wavering on whether to bother to keep playing. I mean as I said, the game to begin with is 90 damned hours. Do you really need MORE? So far (6-7 hours) it's pretty much just more of the exact same dungeon stuff, though at the least there aren't the dead-ends where you have to wait weeks to move on.
Though FES was still worth waiting for since it was essentially a price-drop having released at $30.
I guess one thing to note, though, is that people seemed to be swooning over Persona 3 as this terrific RPG, and it's another that has failed to impress me. Enjoyable in general for what it is, but not at all exemplary, so maybe my thoughts on the extra content are a little less than mainstream.

Tell me to get back to rewriting this site so it's not horrible on mobileJust noticed the glowing edge around "Gaminggeek Weekly".
Awesome.
There's tons of extra content in the special edition besides "The Answer".

Not too many games play like the Resident Evil formula. I mean yeah some games have done the over the shoulder stuff like Gears of War and Lost Planet. But those games still are a rarity, and most of all Resident Evil is a survival horror series and not a shooter. This is no different then Metal Gear Solid 4. Sure 4 looked like a shooter from first sight but everyone knows the reality of it being a stealth series. Not to mention that it was war themed something ridiculously over done now-a-days.
Konami definately didn't back down pushing Metal Gear Solid 4 and so far it has returned the series to its glory days as it is blowing away the sales of the 3rd. I don't see why Capcom has to hone down on Resident Evil 5 especially on it being on two platforms and a generation very focused on immersion and mature themes.

Is that why The Journey was so freaking long?

Tell me to get back to rewriting this site so it's not horrible on mobile^^^They added a bit of story from what I remember but it isn't much longer. Basically there are tons of easter eggs, a new social class, a new element to the battle system, more clothes, more items, more persona's, etc.

Play fighting games!
I started playing a new game this weekend: Serious Sam: The Next Encounter for Gamecube. I bought it Friday for a whopping $3 USD. I played through Serious Sam on Xbox years ago and loved it, so I figured, WTH? The GC sequel isn't as good as the original, but it's still a lot of fun. I really miss the days of classic Doom and Quake where there are tons of enemies on screen, all attacking at once. I'm an old-school arcade gamer at heart, so I need a game like that once in a while, and Serious Sam really fits the bill.
I also watched The Dark Knight this evening. It was a great movie, and Ledger was awesome as the Joker. I still prefer Tim Burton's Batman movies, but The Dark Knight was a lot of fun to watch.
I'm right at the end of Killern 7 but I still haven't had a fucking chance to finish it. >_<
Oh well I've started WoW and it's fun so far, but I'm a bit disappointed. For something that's meant to be the new heroine I was expecting something a little different than the average mmorpg, but what we've got is an average mmorpg with high production values set in the world of warcraft.
Don't think I'll be paying for this, but it should be a fun two weeks.
Oh, and I just started rading Great Expectatiosn, brilliant so far. I'd heard quite a bit of criticism aimed at Dickens, and now I wonder whether the people that levelled the criticism at him are literate.
Ahh, a new week.
Personally, I'm getting back into University mode. Assignments are starting up again and threaten to kick my arse, so I must get them done ASAP. Game wise, I'm slogging through Soul Calibur, and loving it. I'm also trying to wrap my head around PixelJunk Eden and getting Opera to the point where I want it to be my preferred browser (at least, until Firefox becomes more stable and quicker running).
In terms of watching stuff, I've been criss-crossing between the first season of Dexter and a Something Awful "Let's Play" of Sonic the Hedgehog 2006. The latter is astounding to me - it's really that bad of a game.
Foolz, if you haven't seen it, I HIGHLY, and I cannot stress it enough, HIGHLY, recommend you see Oldboy, if you haven't already.
Hate to double post, but I just stumbled across a juicy little nugget of info.
Turns out Australia may get Fallout 3 after all...
That's one of the films that piqued my intersest in Korean cinema! But I've only seen about half of it.
It's been there for weeks. Damn you.
I didn't even know that it was on GC.
It's not a GREAT movie but it is a great in lower case movie. The director can do better but it's very well made and heartwarming and funny. I forgot to mention that along with the north and south korean soldiers an american soldier is in there too and they all become friends and then have to fight to save the village from the war that ravages around them.
Yes, another Oldboy lover. Greatest film ever. I also reccomend Sympathy for Lady Vengeance. Memories of murder, the Host, A Bittersweet Life, Welcome to Dongmakgol, Brotherhood, Bichunmoo, The Warrior, a Tale of Two Sisters and more stuff I can't remember.
But it's all there and more with trailers at my movie blog here: http://zurahn.byethost2.com/blog.php?id=31&page=4
